Something is being done right(Important)
Charley Coooke, Cooke Report, and considered to be of the
top political analyst gave a presentation (1 and /2 hrs) to
students at Georgetown U. The presentation covered the
current political situation putting the Democrats in a
position to take back the House and pssibly the senate.

Since we often hear Howard Dean being attacked, hear this.

"For all those people who thought Dr. Dean crazy with his
50 State Strategy, I got to tell you he looks pretty
smart today." Having set up parties in states where there
were actually no party structure has made it possible
for smooth transition with this wave moving across the
country. (The Dems do not have to scramble around
and take the first warm body as a candidate--they have
a party in operation and it is off to the races.

Furthermore, think about this. Senator Lott was all set to
retire this year. Because of Katrina his constituents
asked him to wait a while. Soon Lott and Cochran will
will be retiring. Because Dean has set up A Democratic
Party in Mississippi (there was no party there) the
Dems will be in a much better place--to compete. If
we ever want to win some Southern Seats, we have to
have a presence there .

To hear a Charley Cooke compliment Dean was great. Dems
are doing something right

1. Many people here, myself among them, have said that the
good Doctor has found his calling and possibly saved the party at the same time.

He's done more for dems and our party than anyone else in a long time.

I wasn't for him when he was running as president but as leader of our party I truly believe that we couldn't have anyone better.

5. Ready to greet them here in DuPage County!
Well, we DO have a Democratic organization. Many extremely hard working Democrats with little support from the DNC (at least in the past). But they're making inroads and growing.

Another thing that's helping, IMO, is we now have one Progressive radio station. Even though it's a day-timer station and transmits in an ocean of hate radio, at least it's here. Since it's Jones Network, callers are heard Nationwide and I have heard many from DuPage.

It's going to be a long hard slog. Till then, we're working to change things from looking like this: http://www.dupageelections.com/pdf/ballots/NP-NAPERVILLE%20%20059-BFN-WebSample.pdf

2. .
I read that quite much money was invested, too.
Some day it may pay out and we will have to thank those who were courageous enough to give it a try.

3. The party infrastructure was allowed to collapse since 1997. Dean's been
working his ass off to rebuild it in those states left neglected.

Think what a STRONG party infrastructure would have meant in Florida in 2000. And in Ohio in 2004.

Those states were left to COLLAPSE since 1997, thanks to the poor stewardship of the party. It is easy to see why some of us believe the negligence was DELIBEARTE, since it really defies explanation.

Dean is rebuilding.the party state by state, county by county. Just as it should have been doing ALL ALONG.

4. Dr. Dean is sooooo intuitive!
It's nice to have a party with intelligence and foresight.

Vermonters were so lucky to have him as Governor for 5 (?)terms.
We are also lucky to have Leahy, Jeffords and soon to be Senator Sanders.

Go Bernie Go. Yeah! :woohoo: :bounce:
