RNC chair Ken Mehlman is having nightmares about Jerry McNerney, Mary Jo Kilroy, Darcy Burner, Lois Murphy and Kirsten Gillibrand.

Who are these candidates? They're all strong progressive Democrats challenging incumbent Republicans, and they're all on the cusp of victory. Kirsten Gillibrand in upstate New York is giving Republican John Sweeney the first true challenge of his Congressional career.
