Or something to that effect? Like well, they had a rough week, but since Hastert's speech it is all better now?

She was so obvious when she said it, that she knew it was not true but she was saying it anyway.

So, that is the new talking point? I have not had the TV on much today, but that stunned me, that spin.

1. Have things together? Doing things in person, not just text messaging?
Hey, at least Clinton 'had things together' all along.

3. AK's been a disappointment, given who her father is...
Her Capitol Hill reporting has been, IMO, pretty slanted against the Dems. Earlier today, she said (paraphrased) "what a difference a day makes! Yesterday, conventional wisdom said Hastert was on his way out and today, there's a great deal of confidence on the ReNAMBLAcan's part..."

4. She was doing a spin for the GOP....kind of sad.
She was saying when I heard her to the effect that they were all over the crisis now.

It made me sick.

And there is a thread here at DU now that is pushing the view that the media is not pushing the GOP view. Baloney.

6. Check the headlines (or absence thereof). She is right.
Dems should be throwing more punches on all issues. Now is not the time to take the weekend off.

8. This has been primarily a media-and-beltway thing . . .
The rest of the country, while creeped out by Foley's stalking, is capable of assessing the relative importance of public events, and has rated this one pretty far down on the scale.

The media have gotten the first few whiffs of this story going stale, so they're collectively preparing themselves to leap onto the next shiny thing that comes by. 'Licans will breathe a sigh of relief, and tell themselves "at least they weren't talking about Iraq for the last week . . ."

And we'll trundle toward the elections. Nothing to see, folks, move along.

9. Valerie Plame Who???
Iraq What???
Bin Laden Been Forgotten???

Its not a wonder that the scandles are one week sensations... on top of that there were multiple school shootings around the country and the media frenzied to catch horsedrawn carriages of a quiet people who would rather be forgotten.
