I'm Not a Lawyer, But I've Read The Constitution, UNLIKE,...
...apparently, the president, vice-president, attorney general, media and most of the republicans and some Democrats in the Congress.

Amendment 4 prohibits unlawful search and seizures.

Amendment 5 prohibits double jeopardy, being a forced witness against yourself or denial of due process of law.

Amendment 6 guarantees speedy & public trial, knowledge of the nature & cause of accusation, the right to confront witnesses and counsel for defense.

Amendment 8 prohibits cruel & inhuman punishment ( I guess I hate America, because that sounds like the definition of torture to me ).

Amendment 9, in my opinion a VERY underused Amendment, is, and I quote "The enumeration in the constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people". In other words, just because a right isn't listed, it doesn't mean you don't have it.

Amendment 14 prohibits the denial of due process to any PERSON yet AGAIN!

What the rightists and subversives in this administration fail (or choose not)to realize is that if all of these rules are followed, NO conviction will fail to withstand any judicial review.

Of course, maybe they do realize this. Maybe thats the reason to subvert it with such abandon. After all, our glorious leader has reportedly referred to The Constitution as nothing but a "god-damned piece of paper".

And thanks to our crusading media, it's not the administration wiping it's collective ass with the law of the land, it's a "political victory".

Screw their uselessness.

WE have to be the media!

PEACE!

1. They're using the same War-Time bunk - Our enemies are evil and inhumane
The above is supposed to justify any and every thing we can dream of doing to them - in retribution.

If we give into this "lower brain center" type thinking, then we have become The Savages that we imply that the Enemy has always been. We have become "THE EVIL" that we fear.

It makes no moral OR logical sense ... Considering others as "less than human" is the basest form of human existence. Then, you can permit yourself to maim, terrorize and kill your *evil* enemy at will. We have become The Savages. :grr: :(

2. Once Upon a Time...
...when our adversaries almost inevitably lost to the United States in a war, they almost looked forward to surrendering to American GIs because they knew that one of the first things that would happen is that they would be FED.

It kinda takes some incentive away when they know that the waterboard is waiting.

Will the "news" media object? Please!
