"Election Predictions" -- House +16 for Dems
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 12:56 AM by longship
Mark Foley's departure from the House today has resulted in Tom at Election Predictions (probably the best 2006 election site on the Web) to change his House predictions to Dems+16. FL-16 is now rates as "Very Weak Gain". Of course, this is all subject to revision, but I thought DUers would be interested.

Election Predictions

BTW, Tom is an *all new* reworked site. Highly recommended.

1. Interesting site
but I'm really tired of everybody thinking that the House race up here is noncompetitive. We have a great Democratic candidate for the House this year. People here are sick and tired of Don Young. If the DCCC and DNC would throw a little cash our way so our candidate could seriously get out in the state and meet with people, she'd win in a landslide. We're having to resort to pleading petitions to the national people for cash - it shouldn't be that way.

2. Sorry. The Colorado stats are VERY outdated.
Fawcett (D) is now ahead of Lamborn (Rapture whack-job).
Paccioni(D) is within the MOE since Aug 19th, and raised more than $1M.
Perlmuter(D) is pulling ahead, but I don't know by how much.

August was a long time ago.

3. Tom's working on it.
Why don't you post a comment on the CO page. Tom recently has added a couple of staffers to the site. He's 17 years old, you know. A smart kid who's doing a heckuva job. ;-)

He's been focussing on bringing the new site online and a few of the state pages need some work. Give the guy some slack. This is a good site.

4. Yep, those kids are doing a good job.
I've been going to their site almost daily for a couple of months. It's the first place I go when I want a summary of where we stand on House races.

I think they're having trouble keeping up with the volume of polls that are coming out now. That was a lot easier a few months back when you didn't see new ones as often. And this workload has been compounded by their move to the new site, which is a big improvement over the old one already.
