6. Heck yeah!
Between the latest polls coming out of VA-SEN, the surprise poll showing NY-26 neck and neck, and the surprise resignation of the incumbent Repub in FL-16, we have a sweep year on our hands.

14. Even Freepers Think He's A Looser (sic]
Get this:

Allen sounds more and more like a looseer, even if he wins.

I'm depressed.

Not too many candidates can alienate blacks and the Sons of Confederate Veterans at the same time.

WHere the heck does macaca come from anyway? I thought I knew them all - apparently that was one word I nver heard before.

FR IS CRACKING THE HELL OUT OF ME TODAY!!

Rawstory is to DU. This wasn't your fault Beet, Ben at NLS did break the Macaca story last month...which was BIG Time for a local blog!

Hang in there :hi: Oh, and I do check all OP links before I respond, and how I found the disclaimer by Mason-Dixon. Good timing for me, eh?

23. here's another not so good poll ...
i like your poll better ... and i'm not sure whether to put much faith in this one either ... one thing's for sure: Allen may still have room for a third foot in his mouth ... he got the first two in there pretty easily ...

this poll shows Allen ahead by 50-44 ... here's a link to the poll: http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReportPopup.aspx?g=ecfbf467-5bcc-4fd5-bf7e-aab7cea55e56&q=29152

32. Webb needs to get his favorables up
He's got a huge number of people who view him neutrally, 41%. That's not going to cut it trying to oust an incumbent. Notice that Allen somehow still has a positive approval number of 41-32 with 27% neutral. These revelations would have much more impact earlier in his career. Right now Virginians view him as a known quantity. For Webb to previal he needs to widen the gender gap by dramatically upping his favorables. IMO he blew it on MTP by not completely denouncing the old comments he made about women. Now he needs some warm and fuzzy commercials to rescue the womens vote.

34. What You've Just Said Works In Webb's Favor, Not Allens
Allen is known, people's opinions of him are pretty set. Webb is unknown and is only NOW starting advertising. There is NO WAY Allen's favorable will go up at this point, and may in fact go down. Unless Webb fucks up totally, as people get to know him, his favorables will improve dramatically.

35. Webb has a lot more cash than he did a month ago so he can help
get his favorables up. Allen has a formidable warchest, but at least Webb can get on the air.
