"at least we don't behead people!"
That's pretty much what our moral highground is reduced to. Very compelling.

The wastrel, immoral, corrupt, spendthrift heirs of our great legacy, Bush and his minions, have opened the gates of hell. At the very least we must give up the pretense that we are the "good" guys. Apparently, there are no good guys.

2. ppl keep saying we don't behead people
But our munitions don't come with a no beheading guarantee. They behead people. They incinerate people. They tear people limb from limb.

4. No, but allowing a military dog tear you apart is so much more
humane. Or just outright shooting someone. Dead is dead people. I am not afraid of death. I am sound in my beliefs. Somehow, I believe heaven would be better.

5. Thank you for not beheading me, says a tortured man with his dying breath.
:sarcasm:

When we do behead people, we will do it with the guillotine, and these same torture-advocates will say, "Well, at least we don't behead them with knives!"

9. The guillotine is an entirely suitable end for traitors, including most of
the Republican politicians & more than a few Democrats. I support the death penalty for treason.

8. no, we make them suffer for days, weeks, months.... years, then
we hold kangaroo courts to justify murdering them.

11. Why aren't we?
We need to offer the president every tool possible to combat terrorism.

(Look at me! I'm so clever! I just "took the best issue from the GOP"!)

give it time, I'm sure they'll start soon, and our dems can study the problem again and judge whether it'll be too risky to oppose it...

15. How come many Americans are so appalled at beheadings
and yet they're cool with lethal injections and the electric chair?

The only "reason" could be because beheadings are bloodier.

17. ..
Beheadings are not torturous enough. These people want to see the person suffer before they die. Even if for only a few minutes. With beheadings it is one chop & the person is gone. Not much torture there.

16. People Have Died In Custody, So What's The Difference?
What is the difference if we behead them or if we simply smother them to death or beat them to death? The result is the same.
