We are in this mess about torture because we have capitulated for years..
to the ones on the other side, being told we would get nowhere by being offensive to the other side.

We were told, our candidates were told, to not do things to evoke anger from the other side because we can't win that way.

We have capitulated so long that it is almost the norm now. When Democrats deviated from the norm, they were swiftly brought down and humiliated.

I talked to Bill Nelson's office today, and I realized again the utter futility of talking to him and others like him. They have an agenda, all the things they do fit that agenda.

His aide kept saying there is nothing they can do, they are the minority, it is not our fault.

They have done this so long it seems perfectly normal. Capitulate, no wave making.

I turned off the TV, but I hear some are speaking out. How many times have they spoken out before very bravely...then turned around and voted for the very item they were speaking against.

The fact that we are even discussing torture shows how far down we have gone as a moral country.

2. Others tried, have been trying for years.
It took Clinton 5 years, but I am glad he spoke out finally.

3. the problem is
it needs to be a continuous, non-stop, irritating roar.

simultaneous seems to be the missing ingredient.

and i wonder, does anyone stand for anything anymore?

without shame?
