1. I'd say Harold Ford wants to be re-elected,
which is what we all want. The final vote on the bill hasn't happened yet.

8. Of course, you mean elected as a senator
which is an especially important position, rather than re-elected as a house member...

10. Oops - my bad; please disregard my post above.
Every now and then, my brain misfires, especially when I'm trying to multi-task.

15. Exactly what I thought.
Harold Ford supports getting elected. He is willing to say or do whatever it takes. He is all politician, I truly believe he would be an R if he felt it would be more advantageous to him personally (and he isn't the only one by any means, in either party). Flame away, in your hearts you damn well know in his particular case it's true.

3. Yes. Taking back congress is more important
then punishing democrats for voting in favor of this bill.

Never mind. I changed my mind.

It's one thing not to go along with a filibuster. It's quite another thing to actually vote for this bill.

12. Have you seen his opponent?!
You may hold your nose voting for Ford, but the alternative....well, you just have to check him out....he is a fucking loon!

11. You do realize that Sherrod Brown,
one of the most progressive members of the House, who's also, coincidentally, running for the Senate, also voted this way. I'm not happy to see either vote, but I don't for a minute believe that Sherrod Brown or Harold Ford supports torture.

13. they just voted for it
Probably knowing it won't get out of the senate, there by giving the pukes no additional ammo, taking Dem votes for granted. Whatever happened to stand up and believe in something?

14. Oh, it'll get out of the Senate all right,
and I think both of them knew that. My guess is, that Sherrod Brown, at least, figures winning is everything- and he may be right. Our country may depend on Dems regainging the majority.
