DLC blogger and senior fellow is gloating over Lieberman today.
Edited on Thu Sep-28-06 11:43 AM by madfloridian
Since Lieberman lost the Democratic primary, chose to hurt the party by making up his own party..chose to get funded by Republicans in large part..then this really angers me.

He is a senior fellow of the DLC, and he speaks for them. Are they officially supporting Joe? Are some of the leaders of the DLC overtly backing Lamont and then covertly backing Joe?

This is dividing our party far worse than any progressives ever have.

http://bullmooseblogger.blogspot.com/2006/09/catch-magic.html

"Catch the Magic!

The Moose asks the Mooseketeers to hug a nutrooter today.

It is a difficult day for the nutroots.
Their boy is not doing well. Here is the hard news that you will not likely find in the lefty blogosphere,

"Sen. Joe Lieberman has a 10-point advantage over Democrat Ned Lamont among likely Connecticut voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday."

Then he rolls on the floor laughing because Joe is better funded.

As long as the DLC calls him a senior fellow and links to him as one of their official bloggers....they approve this message.

Don't tell me they do not approve this message. We are constantly asked to be in unity for November. Most of us don't even need to asked that. We are so on board with getting Democrats elected. This should not be going on.

3. Here are the Dems who are still working for him...others may be quietly.
""Democratic Congressional leaders may be keeping their distance from Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) since he opted to seek re-election as an Independent, but a group of more than 50 former Senators, House Members and Clinton administration officials will proudly announce the creation of "Dems for Joe" today...

"Other founding members include former Sens. David Boren (Okla.), Bob Kerrey (Neb.), John Breaux (La.) and Dennis DeConcini (Ariz.); former Reps. Mel Levine (Calif.) and Leon Panetta (Calif.), who served as chief of staff to President Bill Clinton; former Clinton Agriculture Secretary and former Rep. Mike Espy (Miss.); and former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey.

"They join a much smaller group of incumbent Democratic Senators who have endorsed Lieberman in the general election. Sens. Tom Carper (Del.), Ken Salazar (Colo), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Mary Landrieu (La.) and Ben Nelson (Neb.) all have decided to stick by Lieberman."

10. that is in part, very true.
if grass roots activists and progressives are pissed enough -- they may leave.

which would satisfy the dlc's attempt to create this mythic ''center party''.

7. Let's put this nutbar's gloating in perspective.
DLC lost in many (almost all) high profile races in 2006. Tester beat the establishment candidate in Montana. Angelides beat the DLC champion in California. Virginia got Webb not the other establishment guy - what'shisname. Iowa went for Culver and not the DLC backed drone. Akaka in Hawai'i spanked the DLC's Case (and ass) just last week. Lieberman is forced to run as an independent and Marshall "Losing Fuckwit" Whittnan is crowing about one poll six weeks away from election day while forgetting Lamont has private funds. Then the DLC as an organization loses its tax exempt status. Followed by their fearful From-kins leader who goes to a republican to see if he's interested in running for president. The DLC is irrelevant and their cheap giggles are because they have nothing else to get excited about. Even the Big Dawg went off the DLC reservation this week.

Larger context and perspective is the DLC has irrevoccably cheapened themselves to supporting someone who does not believe in democracy.

Go Ned Lamont Go!

They still have enough power to dry up money for those they don't support.

15. The DLC is dead.
That's why they're now retooling into a third party mode.
Get ready for the McCain/Lieberman "unity" ticket in 2008.
They liked the taste of power they had 14 years ago and are desperate to hang on to that, even if it means
backing McCain.
Self-serving losers are not what we need in these times.

Go, Ned!

So what are Connecticut democratic voters thinking. Do they support bush, his torture his ruining of this country? And one more thing...from all the quotes...the republicans don't look at polls they don't pay attention to them....that is, unless one of their own is ahead.

If it wasn't manipulative you wouldn't have had to repeat it three times and say "don't tell me" the third time.

I did a search on his name there, he is considered an important part of their group.

And here is the link from their website..The Blog Zoo they call it.

And the front page.

On the right.

Why don't you try to convince me they don't consider important what he writes instead of trying to write things meant to embarrass me. That's a cheap tactic, really.

Because that would be trying to prove a negative, and would I think you know by now, after spending years on a political message board where this has been discussed over and over, why I wouldn't have to.

By the way, trying to make your opponent prove a negative is another manipulative tactic.

14. This Was Mentioned From Roll Call On C-Span This AM... I Posted This
response at another post earlier this AM because this is how I'm feeling.

OH, THE PAIN, my husband is out of town and just called to tell me he was coming home tomorrow and I had to vent some of my frustration!

Told him that if we lose this election AGAIN that I WANT OUT!! I've said it before many times, but now I feel more determined than ever! It will take a couple of years maybe, because we have home & property to sell, plus we a are care-takers for his 94 year old mother who has severe Alzheimers. She COULD live to be 100, who knows because she takes NO medications, simply is in La La Land now, but it still healthy!

I have wondered for so long now what has happened to an America I once knew, but now am to the point that I don't much care. I've worked my butt off in so many campaigns but have lost all hope! Quite some time ago I decided "hope" is a 4-letter word.

Now I feel so much shame and desperation. It comes and goes but NEVER goes away completely. As a BOOMER what I have seen these past 6 years have made me feel alien to my own country of birth. November 7th looms large in my mind as I try to gather my thoughts of what is to come!

I fear the only thing that will keep in this country should we lose again is if I see that "We The People" will rise up against the corruption that has entrenched itself within! My husband says "where will you go?" I named a few places, would love to go to Australia but it may be too expensive, but Costa Rica seems my best bet! I feel HELPLESS anymore, but will work my butt off for this election as I have been for a long time now. Too many questions, have no answers and see a once great country falling to pieces! I just donated money to Webb in Virginia and Lamont in Ct, but heard on C-Span this AM that so many Democrats STILL want Mr. Lie and are "secretly" behind him!!! Chalk it up to just another betrayal, another punch in my gut, another blow to my psyche. C-Span has been having so many Repukes on lately and I'm hearing all these Wing-Nuts calling in again and I feel such DESPAIR!! Can't even go walk on the beach... another skanky, stinkin outbreak of Red Tide that makes you board yourself up inside because the smell is outrageous! Keith O is getting "death threats" and my voice is no louder than that of a squeaky mouse!

Sorry if I brought anyone down, just have to vent sometimes! Maybe it's living in Florida with Cruella up the road doing Jack-S--t for us, or F--k-Face Jebby screwing us so badly with several actions he's taken to make it almost impossible to afford insurance or health care, and then to see how totally out of touch those in D.C. are when it comes to those who don't have "big money!" Unions participation is down to 9% nationwide and black clouds on the horizon.

Yes, There's a FIRE just waiting for fuel, but will we FUEL THE FIRE??

FORTY days to go... do we stay or do we rise up and light the fire if they SCREW us again??? Or do we still live with APATHY and a sit by our PC's and blog-on??? I will know MY answer soon!

BTW, I just printed out Ani's best!!!

..have to gloat about him winning the primary.

Right?

He is a senior fellow of the DLC, and he speaks for them.... and links to him as one of their official bloggers

So, when he and Ed Kilgore disagree with each other on their blogs as they sometimes do, which one of them is speaking for the DLC?

And when Whittman's and Kilgore's blogs both say they are unofficial blogs sponsored by the Democratic Leadership Council, and Kilgore's further clarifies by saying, "the word 'unofficial' should be noted here" and goes on to say the views may reflect that of the DLC, but they are mainly his own, should we still take your word that they are somehow officially representative of the DLC as an organization?

Your DU Journal is an unofficial blog sponsored by Democraticunderground. Your views may very well reflect some of what DU's owners believe, but you in no way speak for Democratic Underground.

And his supporters should be gracious. I never gloated here when Lamont won, because I knew the real battle was just beginning. This was never just about Lamont, many of us realized that. It is really just beginning. There will be losses and wins, and they are expected.

I never gloat anyway. I just don't.

And right now I am going to do something I should have done a long time ago. Can't say what it is though.
