It would go something like this whenever one of them takes the mike:

"Good citizens of this country, I believe that if Republicans maintain control of this nation, you're going to see...starting soon after the 2006 elections...gasoline prices rising slowly to around $5.25/gallon by the summer of 2008, followed by a temporary dramatic drop in price to $3.25 during autumn of 2008, followed by another rise in price after the 2008 elections to $8.95/gallon."

If Democrats do something like that...and word it just right...we'd never lose again, as long as gasoline prices are what dictate the votes of the naive and ignorant. They wouldn't be lying either. :smoke:

1. and follow it up
with actual data -- in a nice, easy to read, color-coded graph chart (we Americans understand color-codes thanks to Ashcroft, et al.) -- showing the rise and fall of gas prices and when it happened.

2. Exactly!
Ross Perot style, if you will. Look how many ignoramuses were turned on by his 2nd grade blackboard approach when he ran. He made it sound so simple with his charts and pointer. Dems ought to take a lesson from that.

3. Call me crazy....
....but I love talking about ad campaigns democrats should use.

I saw an ad republicans intend to use. It looks like something from the matrix. It shows a computer screen with a green background, there’s a world map and on it shows red lines depicting nuclear bombs being lobbed across the ocean.

I’m hoping Democrats bring up the fact that republicans put us in the place were every country in the world his tripping over themselves trying to achieve nuclear arms.

4. Not sure that's a scare tactic
but a very plausible scenario.

5. Oh for sure it is...
There's nothing that scares repukian and fence-swinging voters more than thinking gas prices are going to rise. Take a few cents out of their pockets and they hold people accountable.

Ever notice when prices were on the rise how the pumps would be FILLED with people in line waiting to fill up? They were scared shitless that the price would rise by another 2 cents the following day, so they wanted to fill their tanks before the next price increase. Dumb fuckers.

7. Bullshit
Do we wanna stoop to their level? We wanna beat them not BE THEM

I love posts like this that suggest that we continue to lose by not taking the offense and being tough and manipulative ourselves. Yeah, let's sit back and let disgusting fucking repukes win again just by simply fluctuating gasoline prices while we sit back and say nothing about it. Jesus H Christ.

9. Take the high road.
We should take the offensive! We should be tough! We shouldn't be manipulative. We should take the high road and win with honor!

10. Screw the high road and the horse it rode in on
Been there done that. The repukian & fence-sitting idiots in this country are too damn naive and/or ignorant that we should be taking the high road anymore. We took the high road all during the 2004 campaign, and boy oh boy did that work wonders!!
