6. Yep
It's disappointing to see so many Democrats on this list. Especially those that are running for the Senate...

ETA that I was already seriously pissed at some of your recent votes, but I was hoping you'd pull through for us this one time!

8. 'splain this, Sherrod Brown?
TV is being peppered with very negative ads against him by our incumbent Senator Dewine.

Taxes, taxes, taxes. This vote isn't going to help him.

Disappointing, isn't it? Any idea why Mike voted that way?

"That's Mike Michaud. He's one of us."

10. I just got an e-mail from Boswell and sent him this-
(he's not my rep but I'm on his list because I helped out once way back)

Because today Rep Boswell voted for a bill that grants President Bush new war powers and the discretion to torture, as well as accomplishing the destruction of the very American and very Christian concept of habeas corpus, I can no longer support him. Remove my name from this list and do not contact me again.

Thank you,

blah blah

17. This Is hardly Surprising,....
---- The democrats may get their votes from a differently-profiled voter,... but they still ply the trade of the "political industry," and they still dip their beaks in the same corporate money trough as the republicans. I knew the promise of an actual "opposition party" was too good to be true,... Now we have to do what needs to be done on our own.

---- For what it's worth,.... the individual states have recall mechanisms by which they may recall a given national legislator over a sufficiently egregious matter. This OUGHT to be one of those matters, eh? The recall provisions are cumbersome and time-consuming,.... It should be possible for a state to jerk a legislator out of Washington in 24 hours, if the situation warrents it. Do you think any "national" democrat would go for that?

---- Bottom line. We have to stop the neocon faction of the GOP,... but we also have to stop the political industry. They are nothing more than a brokerage house,.... selling legislation for the money they will use to try to get re-elected. The government of the United States of America will never function properly as long as corporate millions are allowed into the electoral process. And anyone disagreeing with this atatement ought to be shot on the spot. Period. Deal with it.

15. These clowns never found a weapons system or mil. approp. bill they didn't
like. Now Bud Cramer has betrayed his district so many times...he doesn't even get a token Rep. opponent or Dem. one any longer. He gets reelected with the highest returns of anyone in congress, but i still dont know what he stands for. He even jokes with Dick Shelby about "why don't you cross the aisle, Bud..." and this is the 5th Alabama. About as Democratic as one can get in the state, save for Artur Davis's.

I campaigned for Artur when I lived in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery, had a photo of him up in my office and it went bye-bye quickly. The 5th is the heart of the Tennessee Valley, encompassing Florence, Athens, and Huntsville. Davis' is a gerrymandered monstrosity that stretches from Tuscaloosa thru parts of Bham to Montgomery on the West side of Alabama, in the Black Belt..a poverty stricken education-bereft area. The Fifth, save for the Bham Rep. suburbs is the most wealthy and is the highest educated district in the entire state, TVA was founded there and it has always been a mixture of heavy union industry (until recently), space and computer technology and education, shopping and medical care for a wide region that stretches from Nashville to Chattonooga, Memphis and Birmingham. It disgusts me to see them vote the way they do, and I think that local editoralists are getting fed up with it too. What I fear is that a huge injection of Republican money would come in and squash any opposition from the challengers at the Federal level. The local party is their best friends, and even Democrats in the state house support 'Biblical Literacy' classes and book-banning. I hate this state, and the destruction of its FDR activist union-loving, socialist power plant, Sparkman and Heflin and Lister Hill legacy. I am glad that I only live 5 miles from Tennessee, so I can flee the Most Serene Christian Republic occasionally, even afoot if need be.

20. Stephanie Herseth of SD did, too
I'm so disappointed in her. She was the featured speaker at the Blue Star Breakfast during the Texas Democratic Party State Convention in Fort Worth a few months ago. She gave a great speech. And it really hurts to see her sell her soul to the Devil like this.
