I lived in that district for 12 years and it's a very moderate district. The last representative before Fitzpatrick was Jim Greenwood, another republican but extremely moderate. Greenwood was even the chair for the Pro-choice republican caucus. So this district is not familiar with hardcore right-wingers and why they picked Fitzpatrick is beyond me. I think Murphy has a great message and will appeal to those people who prefer to have someone independant and not hand-n-hand with Bush
