Here's the Clinton plan Rice says he didn't leave for Bush

Hart-Rudman

The bipartisan 14-member panel was put together in 1998 by then-President Bill Clinton and then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., to make sweeping strategic recommendations on how the United States could ensure its security in the 21st century.

5. Who's going to call her on it? The media?

This is why Clinton's Fox Newz performance was so important.. It's forcing BushCo to spew more outrageous (and easily provable) lies in an attempt to cover their asses.

2. The Bush Team Shit Canned the Report because they were too VAIN
The Bushies PUT VANITY in front of the US Community.

The Bush Team wanted no part of anything the Clintons pushed.

They feared not being in the spotlight if something GOOD came out of it.

The Bush Team wanted the whole STAGE...they wanted to be Quarterback and Reciever at the same time to reap ALL OF THE GLORY.

BUSH is a VAIN GUY...It was Vanity that killed the WTC and all those in IRAQ.

VANITY KILLS.....Bush is VAIN....one of the 7 SINS

They had no sense of history, pragmatism or common sense.

It was going to be a new era.

4. BushCo's excuses sound like the same pathetic lines that
probably got him through school.

"Yeah, uh, I read the report, I just, uh, forgot what was in it becasue it wasn't important".

"Yeah, I've already done that, you must have just lost it."

"Well, I didn't do the assignment because you didn't assign it to us."

"Look, it doesn't matter who wrote my papers and took my tests. The point is, they are done"

9. I guess the question is what "comprehensive" means.
These lying bastards have been playing word games from day 1 of the regime. Reporters who supposedly hate being lied to have stood there time after time, been told obvious falsehoods and recorded them as fact. I hope the corporate media realizes that they have squandered their credibility on behalf of a gang of dishonest, immoral, inept crooks.

17. This report was in the news during the 2000 campaigns...
I remember this clearly. It was all over the news about the report being released and it's findings, which were that our biggest and most dangerous threat was from a terrorist attack. The news actually was discussing it, and kept having experts on, particularly in the time leading up to, during, and after the national security debate. During those debates, Al Gore said he'd implement the recommendations, and that he agreed with the report. The Decider said that he agreed with the report, and that was why we needed to end the IBM Treaty, and build a missle defense shield (the fucking asshat - excuse my language!).

One reason I remember this so clearly is that I was trying to "turn" a couple of my co-workers. The day after this debate, I can remember standing in the outdoor break area and LITERALLY jumping up and down, saying "how can anyone vote for him - he wants to build a star wars missle defense shield when the experts are saying we're going to be hit by terrorists, that terrorism is our biggest threat!"

On 9/11 that scene was the first thing I thought of when I heard about the WTC. I've often wondered if those two women I was talking to that day remember what I said. By 9/11 I wasn't working with them because I had been laid off from that job right after Christmas. I've never seen them since, even though I live in a small rural area. One of them is a fundie type, and I imagine she'd never admit I was right.

Raw Story: 2001 memo to Rice contradicts statements about Clinton, Pakistan
Larry Womack

Excerpt:

A memo received by United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice shortly after becoming National Security Advisor in 2001 directly contradicts statements she made to reporters yesterday, RAW STORY has learned.

"We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al Qaeda," Rice told a reporter for the New York Post on Monday. "Big pieces were missing," Rice added, "like an approach to Pakistan that might work, because without Pakistan you weren't going to get Afghanistan."

Rice made the comments in response to claims made Sunday by former President Bill Clinton, who argued that his administration had done more than the current one to address the al Qaeda problem before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. She stopped short of calling the former president a liar.

However, RAW STORY has found that just five days after President George W. Bush was sworn into office, a memo from counter-terrorism expert Richard A. Clarke to Rice included the 2000 document, "Strategy for Eliminating the Threat from the Jihadist Networks of al-Qida: Status and Prospects." This document devotes over 2 of its 13 pages of material to specifically addressing strategies for securing Pakistan's cooperation in airstrikes against al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

29. This is Their Latest Defense
They claim that the comprehensive plan wasn't comprehensive enough. This is from the State Dept's daily briefing :eyes:

*****************

QUESTION: I just wonder if I can go back quickly to the previous topic. The Secretary made another comment yesterday when she was talking about the fact that there wasn't a blueprint or strategy of some sort that Clinton left behind after he left office. Was she talking about a specific single document or was she talking about a (inaudible) -- because Richard Clarke was still in the White --

MR. MCCORMACK: Right.

QUESTION: -- he had, if there were any such blueprint, probably he wrote it and he was still there when she got to the White House. So I'm just a bit confused of whether she --

MR. MCCORMACK: You can go back and this is all --

QUESTION: Right. Commission --

MR. MCCORMACK: 9/11 Commission flashback at the moment. There is -- look, you can go back and look at the record of the 9/11 Commission. There's -- what they're referring to is the so-called Delenda Plan. It was transmitted I think in a January 25th, 2001 memo that was taken up. It was received at the deputies committee meeting, I believe in a meeting in February or March of 2001. They took a look at this plan and decided that they needed -- there were missing components who had basically -- you know, at its most basic, you needed to have a regional strategy not just dealing with Afghanistan, per se, but you had to deal with other issues like Pakistan and how Pakistan relates to Afghanistan, how Pakistan relates to India. So you had to deal with this comprehensively.

So that might have been what was being referred to. And I would just note that Dick Clarke himself in an interview with journalists while he was at the White House said that there was nothing new. There was no new plan, so that's in his own words.

Yes. Go ahead.
