The big dog was being accused of being responsible for the 9/11 attacks and the deaths of 3000 people. He was not in office and the guy who was was on vacation most of the 8 mos prior to the attacks. He ignored the PDB, he demoted Clarke, and they ignored the Hart-Rudman report

for 4 years I have been driving around with a bumper sticker that states "Bush warned of 9/11 attacks AND DID NOTHING"

I have been flipped off, cut off and applauded

3. We have been defending him for years.

He should have done it sooner. Whenever a Democrat stands up for themselves they get blasted. All the time. Every time.

We defended him here at DU since I got here in 2002, well before the vote on the invasion of Iraq.

We fought here and called and marched so there would be no Iraq.

He did defend himself brilliantly. There is no doubt of that.

4. How many of us have defended Clinton on this for FIVE YEARS - he could've

done this when it first happened and it would've taken the burden off every Dem candidate running in 2002 and 2004 with that evil lie that Dems are weak on terror because Clinton did nothing.

That needed nipping in the bud - instead many books were written, much airtime given to that lie and Clinton is FNALLY speaking out against them with the truth.

Great - I support him 100% for doing it. It needed to be done YEARS ago.
