A Great "One-Two Punch" ....... Now Put It To Best Use,...
---- The democrats could not have had a better political windfall than the back-to-back airings of the NIE terrorism assessment, and the anti-Rumsfeld criticisms levelled by that group of retired generals yesterday. Terrorism and the War in Iraq,.... the whole administration ballgame right there. The democrats should not stop talking about this for the next six weeks,... unless they want to mention Social Security. But that is all they need to do.

---- The NIE report noting that terrorism is actually more of a threat NOW, than when Bush first confronted it five years ago,... and that Bush policies and actions have largely exacerbated the situation,... is an indictment of colossal proportions. It says, in effect, that not only have we failed,.. but we have gone backwards in the process. And these are facts and figures for which the administration has only transparent rhetoric. And as for those generals,... the significance of their condemnations of Rumsfeld and of administration military policy may be measured by the degree to which their remarks represent a shocking departure from established convention. Generals who actually served in Iraq, or with the Bush Pentagon,.. speaking up that heatedly, and so soon after retirement,...well, the implications are pretty plain. They were watching a disaster-in-progress,... and only in retirement are they free to try to do the right thing.

---- Combine the effects of these two massive revelations, and the entire Bush claim of GOP superiority in security matters is dismantled. And what else did they have? Nothing.

---- C'mon, democrats. Eyes on the prize. And while you're at it, take a hint from Bill Clinton's interview over the weekend, too. Stop being so polite.

1. Can I get an "AMEN"?
I'll give it one, myself.

"AMEN!"

It's just more ammo, folks. More ammo in OUR arsenal. It's getting harder and harder for the bad guys to spin this shit, with what keeps on coming out into the light of day.
