I've seemed to have gotten lost with this important issue with Bush geneva convention moving illegal immigrants totally off the screen.

1. Hard To Say
The Republicans are all over the map. The Dems were having trouble getting a good fix to triangulate on.

2. A dem told me today he was going to vote repug because of illegal
immigrant situation is being handled better by the repugs?!! - There doesn't seem to be anything positive from either party and I figured the Rove/Reagan October surprise hasn't come down the pike yet and am still waiting to see Dems action to light up my life..

3. Neither
Political correctness and business money clouds the whole debate.

If somebody came out and said they would secure the border, airports, and seaports and then set a goal of deporting several hundred thousand a year for as many years as it takes combined with a crackdown on all employers that includes fines and even jailtime, he would gain a lot of votes, in my view.

4. If employers were fined $5000. per episode, it should work like a charm
Repugs would claim business hardships for existing illegals already working in US. and GOP would claim it's bad for business??

YEAH!, exactly! that's why employers should be fined $5000.00 for first offense and $30,000 if found guilty for the second time.

5. Neither party has a good plan - the whole thing is out of control
Years ago, the employers should have been given the max penalty instead of a slap on the wrist.
