Why no commercials nationwide showing bush/regime heads in their own words
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 08:06 PM by Skip Intro
Granted, I live in a (soft, I believe) red state (SC), so I may not be seeing any such commercials if they exist. And granted, they may be being held in waiting. But wouldn't it seem the best, most powerful ads possible would be those featuring bush and the gang uttering jaw dropping things like the comma comment?

What about rummy's "wish I were Santa Claus" remark.

I know from having read DU for so long that there must be a long list of such things. Bush saying it would be easier if he were "dictator." The long pause at the debate with Kerry. Stuff we've seen on Countdown and The Daily show - "unacceptable to think" and, bush from the Kerry debates, "never said bin laden wasn't important - one of those exagerations..."

Hell, for that matter, show them on video making the fraudulent case for the murderous invasion/occupation of Iraq. "We know where the wmds are" - rummy. "We believe they have reconstituted nukes" - cheney. Condi. Etcetera, etcetera.

Have these ads followed with a tag line something like, "its time for checks and balances. Its time for a change." Or something similar.

Hit them with their own words. Hard and often.

3. Hoist them on their own petard, I say.......
Skip Intro....this is a GREAT idea. Heaven knows the Repubs have been given enough rope to hang themselves.

Need to show a film clip of the actual statement.....followed by chapter & verse of a given government document repudiating what the Repukes previously said. The obvious ones which come to mind for me:

-we know where the WMDs are
-Iraq certainly had ties with Al Qaeda (and thus Iraq needed to be taken down for ITS part in 9/11)

There have been some great posts on DU enumerating the blatantly false statements made by the Repukes. I have copied many as articles in my personal files, with attribution.

Will Pitt wrote a great one titled "I give you a FACT BOMB for your reading pleasure". It's URL at the time was
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x5290247

Some other subjects I copied (I have the URLs if anyone is interested) are:
-Bush administration members on record connecting Saddam to 9-11 (17Nov2005)
-Congress saw different intel from Bush (CongResearchSvc 16Dec2005)
-NIE warned Bush of civil war in Oct2003 (28Feb2006)
-What Bush was told before the Iraq war (2Mar2006)

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE !!!!!!
