How the Democrats Can Win Back Congress
They need to filibuster the torture bill right now. It is that simple. This will put a clear distinction in voters' minds come November and not to mention it is a damn good bill to filibuster in the first place. Perhaps, some Republicans who worry about their own seats will join in like with the Patriot Act. But the Republicans will not even be needed on this since Dems would only need 41 Senators to accomplish the feat.

1. I think you're right.
The clearer the distinction in the voter's minds between the Democrats and the Republicans, the better off we'll all be. filibuster the torture bill is a good start.

5. Suicide. We need to get back to Iraq.
The whole torture bill thing was orchestrated by the GOP to try to escape political punishment for their failures. The more attention it gets, the more they like it.

7. Maybe you are right
that it was invented by the GOP.

However it is moral to stand against torture. Second, it is pragmatic as voters will see a clear distinction between the parties. The Democrats need to word it very strongly and say that they are against the torture and they need to keep labeling the bill, the torture bill.
