1. Then maybe we can learn how the problem isn't 'islam'
Muslims are supposed to refrain from not just food and drink and sex during Ramadan, but violence and gossip, and general negative behavior. Anyone who commits a violent act during Ramadan, without being backed into a corner to do it, isn't a good Muslim. Any Imam who sanctifies violence during Ramadan is an extremist on par with the Christian preachers who say it's ok to kill abortion doctors.

2. Does this mean it gets better or worse?

Do they lay off the fighting, or will it be more intense? Are there Ramadan carols? I imagine in Baghdad the new versions goes like this:

You better watch out
you better take care,
you better pack heat if you go anywhere,
Ramadan is comin' to town,

They're making a list, and checking it twice,
Their gonna find out who to put on ice,
Ramadan is coming to town

They'll get you if you're Christian,
They'll get you if you're Sikh,
They'll get you if you're Sunni or Shia,
so be armed for goodness sake....

On Edit: with apologies to those Islamic folks out there.......

4. That is funny.
Reminds of that great saying -Religon is a great thing, in moderation (from the "priest"
in Trading Places).

5. If it is possible I fear that ...
The violence is going to increase. :scared:

I hope that I'm proved wrong.
