1. this man is a SHAME to this country
I don't care how much torture he dealt with during his service.

He's certainly gotten his fair share of political mileage out of it. He needs to go.

2. Can't say I'm impressed with him either.
He might manage to say the right thing every now and then, which is better than most pukes.

Overall he's just another puke.

4. So basically McCain is acknowledging that Bush HAS broken the law...
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the President, or anyone for that matter, is allowed to do that. Does this mean the Chimp is about to held accountable for something for the first time in his fucking life?

Don't bet on it. McCain is a disgrace and, as a former POW, should be ashamed.

5. He shamed himself yesterday
His legacy has been (TO PEOPLE OTHER THAN MYSELF), rightly or not, one of impecable military credentials with morals, of toughness with moderation, of a maverick of sorts.

He pissed that all away yesterday. And on an issue that should make him sick to be a part of. He knows personally what it is to be on the other end, and still had such a black heart he took part in giving the chimp his way around the Geneva Conventions.

Shame on our nation, and shame on McCain.

(for the record, I know he is a disgusting, corrupt shill)

Give him a hug, McCain. He's your daddy.

6. McCain acknowledges that he is a hypocritical, ass-licking, scum-bag.
This man has been lobotomized by the rest of the corrupt swine in his party. Of all the GOP suck-bots, he should know better. Shame on him, I say.

SHAME!!!!!!!!!

:grr:

7. Shameless appeasers to Fascism!
Our reps in Congress swore an oath to uphold, preserve and protect the US Constitution. Any of themn that have signed on to this travesty of a Torture Bill have violated their oath. They need to charged with violating their oath.

8. More detail on the loopholes
"It only takes 30 seconds or so to see that the Senators have capitulated entirely, that the U.S. will hereafter violate the Geneva Conventions by engaging in Cold Cell, Long Time Standing, etc., and that there will be very little pretense about it. "

10. Alas, he's scary ready for primetime
The media just loves to sell the myth of McCain as a maverick moderate. And once they latch onto a meme like that, it's well-nigh impossible to get them to report it another way.

He's sold his soul for his crack at the presidency, by propping up a man he obviously can tell is killing the country.

I think it's McCain or the living Ken doll, Mitt Romney, who will be the guy to beat in '08.

11. And where is the outrage?
Oh right, the media spins it as a compromise. McCain says we have kept the Geneva convention intact when he has done nothing of the sort. The majority media spin it as a compromise. Spin it as just another day at the office. Spin the important thing (I did a thread on this) as the Republicans saving "face." What's most important, afterall is their political careers. An innocent man is no doubt being tortured in my name to keep me "safe" right this minute, but who cares! The Republicans have reached a deal. All is swell!

Meanwhile BREAKING NEWS there is some baby ripped from her mother's arms. Luckily,McCain wasn't asked for a "compromise" on that.

I am living in an Orwellian novel. Because they say it's so doesn't make it so. But no one will hold them to account. No one is yelling danger. So it's okay!

And good old boy McCain is letting them all off for the past torture. What a defender of human rights that man is! I can't wait to call him my torturer in chief.

12. And is there any outrage from the Dems in Congress?
At first glance, it looks like the Dems are going to act like it's "all clear" on this issue. Someone please prove me wrong.
