THIS is the only election that matters to the neocon cabal
They MUST steal this one for every repuke they can and maintain control over Congress

Otherwise, odds are that many neocons will be dragged through "Iran Contra 2."

If king george can stay out of prison for two more years, he can pardon everyone like poppy did.

1. GOP will make sure that they will win (unfortunately)
but you wonder if Democrats if they take Congress whether they would do any 'Nuremberg trials'

4. One big difference, though
Post WWII there wasn't a multi-billion dollar "news" industry focused 24/7 on deifying the Nazi war criminals while simultaneously attacking the prosecutors. If a Democrat-controlled Congress attempts to bring any Neocons to justice, we can expect an unprecedentedly aggressive pro-Neocon, anti-Dem media blitz.

18. Even if Dems take Congress the neocons aren't dead
they're growing like poison ivy throughout the world. In France we expect trouble with them.

12. I have zero faith in the Democratic Party
as currently constructed, to do the right thing regarding holding the repuke neocon treasonous criminals accountable.

2. Absolutely correct. The ONE thing that scares the neo-cons to death is....
...an elected Democrat armed with subpoena power...

This election will be stolen too...

5. I agree....and it will be the end of the two party system....
If they own everything for the next two years, this country will be unrecognizable in 2008.

6. Sadly...
The same could accurately have been said in 2002 of 2006.

Republicans: Greasing the wheels on the SUV to destruction.

7. It is unrecognizable now!
Where is the loyal opposition? The silence is deafening! It already is a one party system, there is a pretense being operated for our benefit. 98% incumbent reelection rate, the politburo would have been jealous! My sweet Christ, what will it take?

8. They are already 95% of the way there.
if not more.

This country is already unrecognizable.

9. But perhaps they don't want to win
If the Dems gain control of one branch of government, they are now on the hot seat as well. Any problems that come along: the economy, Iraq, military action on Iran, etc. would be partly their responsibility. Plus, a defeat would make the Republicans work that much harder in 2008.

The big prize is the Presidency in 2008.

13. I doubt these Dems are going to do anything of that nature
They will relish getting back into power, and not rock the boat. Setting up investigations that will tarnish their own name as well as the Repubs will only hurt them in 2008. They don't have the courage of conviction - I mean, they have been bashing Chavez all week.

14. I think certain repukes are afraid
of Dems in power.

But basically I agree. I see no sign that any current Dems will muster anything but a conciliatory half-baked approach to the next couple of years, even if somehow the Diebold equipped repukes did let them regain control of a house of congress.

16. a problem with that is
the democratic leadership in congress wont investigate, theyre too chickenshit to look into if bush knew about the plan for 9/11 or if he knew Iraq didnt have WMDs... either of which are grounds for criminal charges

17. I agree.
As a lifelong Dem (campaigned for JFK as a kid), it saddens me to say it, but I see very little principle at work in the current Dem party. They are all too clever by half.

They won't go after the real problems and the egregious crimes the neocons have perpetrated. They'll have to do something though. I think they'll target a few scapegoats.
