Pennsylvanians Rejecting Santorum's Multiple Efforts To Trick Voters

<snip>

A new poll from Rasmussen shows Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) trailing Democrat Bob Casey Jr. by 10 points.

It shows, perhaps, that Pennsylvanians are not buying into Santorum's hyperbole this campaign season. In spite of an onslaught of dishonest moves by Santorum in recent weeks, Casey actually added to his lead from Rasmussen's August poll.

1. Only ten points?
My God, the people of Pennsylvania should be ashamed. Anyone who would consider a nut job like Santorum is, well, an equal nut job

2. it's a purple state
Kerry only beat Bush by about 4 points in 2004.

Philly is strong Democratic, but a lot of the rest of the state leans right. Still, this represents a big swing from the polling during the 2000 campaign.

4. here are the stats
http://www.uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/state.php?f=0&year=2004&fips=42

Candidate/Party/ Popular Vote/ Electoral Vote
John Kerry John Edwards Democratic 2,938,095 50.92% 21
George W. Bush Richard Cheney Republican 2,793,847 48.42% 0
Michael Badnarik Richard Campagna Libertarian 21,185 0.37% 0

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/elections/keyraces/21/

2000 Senate Election:
Santorum (R) 52%
Klink (D) 46%
Other 2%

So, Santorum is down 13 points from his last race, and Casey is up 3 from Klink's performance.

5. Conservative Lancaster TV station labels Santorum ad FALSE
Conservative Lancaster WGAL TV does an ad watch of political ads, and labeled a Santrorum attack ad on Casey as FALSE. The ad suggested that Casey basically hired thugs and criminals to run his campaign and took political donations from criminals for senator. Not only did they label the ad FALSE, it turns out two of the guys Santorum attacks as givin moeny to Casey (whcih by the way they didn't) ACTUALLY gave money to the Santoru campaign.

Hysterical, and Santorum keeps running the ads. WGAL TV says even thoug the ad is FALSE they are required udner law to run a FALSE ad.

Bizarre.

6. Wow.. bizarre is right..
Welp.. it only goes to show (I suppose ) that Casey has support from a wide spectrum of people in Pennsylvania.

Kudos to that station for being honest.
