Check out this :30 ad that they're running in California
designed to hopefully bring down Arnold in the Gov. race and elect Democrat Phil Angelides. (disregard if you've happened to see it)

I think it's an effective ad because it associates Arnold The Groper with someone (Bush)("the devil") who is in favor of bombing and killing and lying and torturing and a whole lot of other un-christian acts.

Angelides, while having his flaws, is not about to allow himself to get Swiftboated.

He's on the offensive, as well he should be......I wish more of our candidates were on the offensive!!

5. Yea, it could have been worded better, pointing out how suspicious
it is that gas prices are falling like a rock so close to the election......yet at the same time, pointing out just how outrageously high they've been under Bush.

3. sorry but these ads linking Ahnuld to Bush just don't work
he's shown his independence from Bush on such issues as the environment, abortion, etc

Ahnuld is not Bush

6. I think its fine, but
There had better be more (about Groper's failings) real fucking soon. An ad with Phil might be nice , too

9. exactly
if Phil can't try and define Ahnuld as a bad leader, then he doesn't have a snowball's chance

7. Agreed, people here do know the difference
But the ad is not bad for a "Hail Mary" effort.

8. Well, all I can tell you is after seeing this ad numerous times, my
opinion of Arnold has dropped way lower than it already was.

Yes, he's a social liberal, but otherwise . . . he's for Bush, and that will surely influence some of the undecided voters.

Bottom line. The ad doesn't hurt, IMO.

21. I heard from several who felt OK about Arnold
tell me that this ad changed their mind. Too many forget Arnie is just another Republican operator and supports the Bush regime.

10. I think they are powerful, succinct ads.
Linking Schwarzenegger to Junior IMO is brilliant because while some people are on the fence about Schwarzenegger, they are clear on their disapproval of Junior.

The message in that ad is approved by this Californian. :)

14. it's doesn't matter what the calibur is if they're not paying off
he could be giving away that money to charity rather than using it for ineffective ads

that might get him some votes

15. I think the bloody primary battle really caused irreparable harm .
You sound bitter and, as a Californian, so am I. I am disgusted with the lying sack 'o shit occupying the governorship. He is a charlatan and a two-faced liar.

Still, I like the ad. Considering the Angelides vs. Westley public knock down, drag out left Angelides a bloody mess, turning the focus to Schwarzenegger's relationship with Drinky McDumbass IMO is a good idea and probably the best strategy in the Dems' arsenal. Its efficacy has yet to be determined.

19. Thanks for the reply... are they keeping statewide polls there?
I'm ASSuming that Arnold has a pretty decent lead, huh? Or that's what one would gather from listening to the tv..

Seems that he hit skid-row bottom back when all those amendements he placed on the ballot went down in flames..

But from the way it sounds, evidently.. somehow.. he re-invented himself and became a more bi-partisan image?

I have a big brother who lives in Sunnyvale, but I always forget to ask him how the Gub'ners race is doing there..

20. Been seeing this add every 5 minutes on my Teevee.....
but the problem is that it has impact AGAINST Arnuld....

But none FOR Angeletis.

Angeletis needs to hurry and do something besides this....cause right now he's at 35% to Arnuld's 57%.

(I knew this would happen if Angeletis won the nomination....he's absolutely got no charisma or charm or any edge that comes off his persona when he's on the tube--even though he was best on the issues) -

California is a big ass state....so most folks only see Teevee when it comes to who's appeal will win them over. Somehow, voteres have forgotten every messed up thing that Arnuld has done (Like that expensive election last year for naught)......and unfortunately, the only commercial that we are seeing is only highlighting that what's he's done wrong was to support Bush. Arnuld needs to be held accountable for his actions, and that ad just doesn't do it.

I'm waiting for more......cause the few days left may not be enough for Angeletis to sell himself to those in the middle who will make the difference! :(
