61% Of Americans Find Bush's "Hitler" Language Inappropriate...

September 13, 2006 09:18 PM

From thinkprogress.com

NBC released a poll tonight showing that the majority of Americans object to recent White House attacks comparing Iraq war critics to Hitler appeasers.
( link: http://thinkprogress.org/2006/08/30/rumsfeld-war-critics-2/ )
Asked about the recent "appeaser" language, NBC's Tim Russert said the poll showed this rhetoric "did not resonate with the American people."

1. Well...if you consider bush's favorite, "Axis of Evil"
on going and frequent saying, then..how different is that from someone labeling him the devil? He does think he rules the world! And only he can decide who is "evil" and who is "good". Chavez is right!

3. And to add only that it's not Chavez, but the Bush boot-licking,

civil-liberty thieving, war-mongering minions in THIS country that are running for elections right now.

Voters could use a little less media concentration about the Chavez side-show and a whole lot more sustained outrage about Bush's own verifiable contempt for political dissent right here where we live, and vote, and pay taxes, and shed ours and others' blood for his megalomania.

2. Interesting but probably not significant.
Despite their relative claims to evilness, "Hitler" is a rhetorically more hysterical epithet than "the devil".

4. Notice how Chavez's comments are described as "anti-Americanism"
and Bush's comments are described as being critical of a particular leader.

The elite want us to think Chavez is the enemy. while we know that Bush is our common enemy, of working folks in Venezuela to Louisiana to Kansas to Detroit.
