Big Dog on Larry King...
sure made me nostalgic for the days when we had a President who was intelligent, articulate, and could carry on a conversation and get his points across like an educated adult instead of a spoiled, whiney-assed, immature, lying POS.

5. He said its not exactly a religious conflict
He described it as more "sectarian". The religious differences between the factions is not that great, its just a matter of different power groups wanting to control the government. Though he didn't say it exactly, its really based on all the ME countries long history of tribal form of government.

He also hinted that there are outside forces agititating the fighting among the different sects.

He also said the Iraq invasion was partly because Rumsfeld and others wanted to redeem themselves for the stupid mistakes they made w/ Iraq during the 1980's, when they tried to make friends w/ Saddam Hussein in order to use them as leverage against Iran. It didn't work out then and they made asses of themselves. Invading Iraq now is probably an attempt to revise their failed history in dealing with Iraq.

4. He was good, as usual
I especially liked his opinions on Iraq. Loved it when he said that Cheney has no intention of leaving Iraq, that he lied to justify invading it, so there's no way he's going to leave. Clinton basically blamed the WH rationale for the Iraq occupation on PNAC. He didn't mention PNAC, but pretty much described the philosophy they promote. He said its wrong and won't work.
