I suppose I upset a freeper
To give you some details on my wife's family, they are all Bush-Bots. To give you another example of how the family is, my Brother-in-law who married into my wife's family told me that they put him through the same stuff they are putting me through. It seems no matter what, they do not accept *you*. It took him years to be accepted/acknowledged. I walked into a conversation one time in which her Aunt was talking behind my back and when I presented my face, opps she changed the subject pretty quickly. I pretended I didn't hear it but I know the score. It's funny because a typical family get together involved a good deal of alcohol... not on my part but theirs, not that there is anything wrong with drinking if you like to sit around all night drinking and doing nothing else...but I digress...

Today I emailed out the awesome Reid/Durbin video:
http://alternet.org/blogs/video/

My brother-in-law who really hardly visited his own sister when she lived 2 streets away, then when we moved his wife bitched... but I digress... Apparently he did not like me sending the video out because he sent me the following....

While I respect the American right to free speech, please remove me from these liberal, anti-Bush emails since I really don't care to listen to it. I've heard it all before and it never changes no matter what Republican is in office.

Thank you.

It was like a form letter, he didn't acknowledge me, no other comments asking how the family was. Gosh, What do I have to do to be accepted into the Family? I told my brother-in-law when he first told me that, "I don't care what other people think of me, I know who I am"

So, is this your typical Bush-bot Freeper family or what?

4. Let's see the grocery list...
They need to bring a few "boxes" of wine and that half drank bottle of vodka on that next family get together.

3. A lot nicer than my response
I do not like getting unrequested political email and am downright hostile when I get it. And when it's from family... grrrr.. they know better. I've had one tift a piece with a close family friend, my sister and my sister-in-law - and lo and behold my email is free from all right wing crap.

I think you were wrong to send this to a family member who you know has very strong political views.

6. True but...
having to listen to them speaking highly of Bush the past few years got on my nerves. Dare I speak of a Democrat during that time...omg!

Now I have become more political... or should I say more in touch with what is going on in the Government, I really want to start keeping things in balance :-)

9. Hey, it's your family
Have at 'em any way you want. I shut mine down the second they got started, so I don't know what it's like to listen to 5 years of Bush lovin'. They really do just know better. Hell my sister even took me to the Clinton library! :)

8. It's not anti-Bush .... it's pro-democracy
They just don't get it. They have a twisted sense of freedom and democracy. They claim to be flag-waving patriots, but they ask no questions and offer no dissent, which is what a true patriot does.
