Poll indicates Braley leads Whalen in First

A new poll shows Democrat Bruce Braley leading Republican rival Mike Whalen in the 1st District congressional race.

Braley, a Waterloo lawyer, leads Whalen, a Bettendorf businessman, with 44 percent to 37 percent, according to a Des Moines Register poll that was published Sunday.


“We think this (new) poll shows voters of eastern Iowa are ready for a change,” Jeff Giertz, a spokesman for Braley, said Sunday. He said it proves voters object to Whalen’s positions on the minimum wage and Social Security and associate him with “President Bush’s failed policies.”

races by DU members in the State forums its plain to see that it really looks like the Democrats will win the Majority in the house for sure..All the pollsters can give us their take on these races but from what I read it looks great for the Democrats
