Jim Webb/Geo Allen on MTP Now
Webb is kicking Allen's ass about Iraq and the vote about detainees issue upcoming. Webb clearly understands the military problems and has some good ideas about redeployment; Allen says we need to increase the number of troops and we have been. He claims that the Iraqi forces are stepping up to the plate.

Allen is weasling about whether he will vote with Bush or with his senior Senator on the detainee issue. Weasling!

Go Webb! We need someone of his leadership in the senate. Virginians deserve better. :patriot:

5. Yes, many of the traditional conservatives that I'm acquainted with
are leaning toward voting for Webb vice Allen. Yes, I know and have worked with numerous ones - those who are somewhat open minded Conservatives as well as the RW Fundy Kool-aid drinkers.

BTW, Bumper stickers are somewhat silly but I'm seeing more and more Jim Webb stickers adjacent to those of retired USMC and the US Army. Yeah, I know Active Duty are not supposed to show political biased - but you see it all the time in the area of Quantico Marine Corps Base. In the past it's been for "W", therefore, it's very refreshing to see support for Jim Web. IMO Jim Web is a SANE Conservative Democrat ... the kind that can work with other legislators of all backgrounds. :-)

Go Jim Webb! My dear belated Father, who served in the Combat Engineers during WWII, would vote for you in a heartbeat. :patriot: This week I'm venturing a little north to the PX in Fort Belvoir to shop for some other former Army family members ... it will be interesting to see the political bumper stickers in a more Northern Areas (greater diversity) of Virginia. ;)
