It was mostly dedicated to W's actions yesterday regarding torture.

The group was pretty heated. At one point Eleanor Clift yelled at the top of her voice (my paraphrase): "If we don't have any more freedoms, then what are the soldiers dying for?"

9. Profits and power. But the masses still believe in the abstract...

notion of 'freedom' as the focus of american warfare. The only way to analyze war is to look at the economics of war. The rest is fluff and propaganda. But it's much easier to digest war for some abstract ideal, than the truth about the bottom line.

So, on the other hand, the bushies have a great strategy (contrary to popular belief). Issue (and premise): "They" hate us for our freedoms. Resolution: Take away our freedoms. Sound reasoning no matter how you slice it! If there are no more freedoms, the hatred cessedes and voila! No more terr'ists! <sarcasm>

...Have you ever noticed how Tony Blankly has a hard time looking straight into anyones eye's? He's one of Bush's biggest cheerleaders.
