Nick Lampson, Shane Sklar, David Van Os, Chris Bell, Barbara Radnofsky, and others. The Fort Bend Democrats are trying to help them. Sounds they are making some noise in Texas. I am sending some their way today to help air that ad.

The ad at their website.
http://www.fortbenddemocrats.org/

And article about the newly seen Democratic face there:
http://www.herald-coaster.com/articles/2006/09/15/news/news02.txt

"The Democratic Party in Fort Bend County this year is well-funded and has been highly active, said more than one Republican candidate at the Fort Bend County Republican Party Executive Committee meeting on Thursday.

Fort Bend County has long been considered solidly Republican, but several contested candidates on Thursday evening told fellow Republicans that without a unified party and adequate funding, county-wide Democratic candidates could be elected into some offices for the first time in years.

"The Democrats are working hard - extremely hard - and it's scary. So I come to you asking you to please continue to work with us," said Rebecca Anne Elliott, who is running for the District Clerk's office."

About this group because I like to check out groups I donate to:

http://www.fortbenddemocrats.org/about.htm

"The Fort Bend Democrats is a grassroots organization started in 1986 and recently revived in 2003 when concerned Democrat activists saw a need to take action and start organizing early. It started when local organizers for the Wesley Clark and Howard Dean primary campaigns met and decided to renew the organization. The Fort Bend Democrats started holding monthly meetings at the George Library in Richmond in October of 2003, with only eight people attending the first meeting.

Since then our membership has grown to 160 paid members and over 700 people on our mailing list. One of the first things we did as a club was invest in some Fort Bend Democrats merchandise: t-shirts, hats, and denim shirts. The money we raised, together with contributions, allowed us to open a highly visible headquarters on Highway 90 in Rosenberg."

4. Richard Morrison at Texas Kos blogs about this group.
Actually it is now called

Texas Kaos

I admire Richard so much. He was the one many of us credit with showing DeLay's vulnerability in 04. He kept working hard when he lost, started to run again, but graciously dropped out for the sake of party unity. He keeps working for the party, and I admire that.

Richard, Dean, and Van Os

7. Share this around. They are so appreciative of the donations.
Getting our Democrats on air.

I remember the DeLay ad we at DFA paid for and put up in DeLays area. He threatened to sue and Time Warner took it off the air. Every word has been found to be true.

Hope he has lost some of that power.

8. Fort Bend Democrats rock!
A couple of weeks ago I went down there with some friends for their Labor Day rally. Would you believe that there were three hundred people at that event? They really show what hard work and organization can start to accomplish over several election cycles.

9. That sounds great.
They were calling some people today who were supporting Richard Morrison financially back in the day he was a Dean Dozen. They sounded so enthusiastic, I had to donate again.

10. If you look up "Good Democrat" in the dictionary
You'll see Richard Morrison's face there. I am convinced that had he not run in 2004, Tom DeLay would still be in Congress and considered unassailable. Within a few days of that election, Morrison was sending out emails saying he was ready to run again. When the powers that be leaned on him to withdraw in favor of Nick Lampson Morrison withdrew gracefully, endorsed Lampson and asked his supporters to do the same. The more Richard Morrisons we have the stronger we will be as a party.

And by the way, he was at the Labor Day event, showed the commercial, and then stood at the exit door collecting donations in his hat to get it on the air.

11. Collecting donations in his hat.
Love it. Texas sounds way ahead in spirit from our area of Florida. It is so odd here. People are so stiff and afraid of the Republicans.

14. A simple, honest ad. A pity other Dem's wont run it.
It would apply to just about every place the Republicans dominate. But Democrats won't run it anywhere else. It took a grassroots organization, without high-paid consultants, to put together a an ad that speaks to the heart.

When will other Democratic organizatons drop these money-wasting consultants, find some of their own members who can make videos (anyone with a computer and a little skill can do that, nowdays) and start speaking to the public?
