Dems should be going after moderate R's for THEIR votes!
Fellow Democrats,

In this election cycle we should not just be talking about getting out our base. We should also be talking about PERSUADING moderate R's to vote for US. Their party has turned so far to the right they have alienated moderate R's, many of whom may well stay home. We actually have a chance here to garner the support of many moderate R's. We should be talking much more about this and how to do it. The R's have never had a hard time asking for D votes. Bush did it in '04. This time, WE have a chance to get many R votes. In fact, some of our people MUST get R votes to win. Nothing wrong with offering thoughtful, moderate R's a new home. Up here in Maine our local candidates routinely knock on EVERY door, regardless of party, and many need some R's to win, AND THEY GET THEM. Our governor gets a lot of R's to vote for him, as do our 2 Congressmen. No reason at all with all the dissatisfaction many moderate R's have with the
far-righters who have taken over their party we can't move many of them over to our side. We just need to make a concerted effort to message to them. It CAN and SHOULD be done in this historic opportunity to take back Congress and make gains at the state and local levels across the country.

1. My Republican Brother will vote Democratic in November...
I like how your local candidates go after every vote. A lot of people don't know a Republican from a Democrat. They vote for the person they feel most comfortable with.

I volunteered during the '04 elections to deliver fliers. I was given a list of the addresses of Democrats I was suppose to deliver to. I was delivering to maybe a hundred houses and was given about twice that, so it wasn't for the lack of materials.

I would like to get this message out to Republicans...If you feel you can't possibly vote for a Democrat (because I know, after the last six years, I could never vote for a Republican), PLEASE for the sake of our nation, stay away from the polls come November.

:hippie:
