9. OK, so for the sake of "clarity" he's saying that the "program"
will not go forward if the Geneva Conventions are not modified? Or is he saying that the US Gov won't be able to move forward with torture if the law is not retroactively modified? Thus, the implication is that the Terra-rists would win...is that it?

10. He was telling congress... either modify the treaty
to allow my type of torture (i.e everything we don't specify) or we will quit questioning terrorists.

And the next terror attack will be YOUR fault because you didn't give me what I wanted.

5. Me either. I'm your fellow two year old. Also it bothered me that Bush
said 'I HOPE other countries will not adopt their own version of the Geneva Convention - that's a paraphrase. BUt the point is he HOPEs - if his HOPe is wrong - it would mean our sons will be tortured.

Bush scares me more and more. He is truly losing it. I see why his staff is so afraid of him. If he acts this way in public, can you just imagine how he acts in private.

12. He needs Congress to pass a law saying what torture is and isn't
He wants ot use what he calls "harsh interrogation techniques" on detainees. Any sensible person would call harsh intorrogation techiques like waterboarding, sleep and sensory deprivation and extended periods in a stress position torture.

But he wants Congress to say that torture is the rack or the iron maiden and not much anything else.

He thinks this will shield him from being prosecuted for war crimes. However, I believe it is the ICRC that gets to decide what torture is and isn't, not the US Congress. So if he thinks this is going to shield him from prosecution for war crimes, he is out of his pea-sized mind.

He also needs Congress to say that for an illegal combatant (that's Bushese for prisoner of war), due shall be putting him on trial in a court where he cannot examine the evidence against him; and also that violate his right to due process to sentence him to death in such a proceeding.

I think Bush that also say that he wants Congress to pass a law declaring the earth is flat. That makes about as much sense as his idea of due process.

I was particularly outraged today when, in response to questioning by David Gregory, Bush suggested other countries like Iran and North Korea adopt the "standards" that he is proposing. He actually said it would be OK with him if American service members taken prisoner in combat were interrogated and prosecuted under these "standards".

As a veteran, I would like to say that I am thankful that this dimwit was not sitting in the Oval Office when I was on active duty. As an American, I would be outraged if any foreign government or paramailitary organization like Hezbollah or al Qaida violates an American service member's human rights under Bush's standards, I will be very pissed off. As a human being, I am outraced when anybody's human rights are violated as they have been in Mr. Bush's offshore network of gulags.

What the fuck does Bush know? His military service was in a champagne National Guard unit and then only when it convenienced him to drop in for duty.

"You're right David, it is a beautiful late summer day"

That would be just as equal a rehearsed non-answer then what he gave.
