You just watched the first day in the new fall offensive...
Mr Bush goes on the offense, just like he has always done. Even against Governor Ann Richards, who had over a 70% favorable rating at the time she was defeated. This is the offensive for the fall election. Let's keep it in perspective. If the Democrats do not fight back, they will find themselves on the short end of the stick once again. It's time to play hardball with this guy. Put him on the defensive. Find a way.

1. Could he have done to Richards, to McCain, to Gore, to Kerry if corpmedia
wasn't helping him every step of the way?

3. Bush isn't up for re-election though.
What he is doing, is deflecting attention away from Republicans who are. When Bush gives a speech that goes on for 30 minutes or more, it makes the front page the next day, so you can be sure we'll be seeing a lot more. Gives Republicans a chance to breathe and even disagree with him.

It is rumored there won't be an presidential election he would stay in office because the country is at war.

6. Basically, Democrats are afraid of opposing the war...
they are afraid of history, but they are misinterpreting history. They need to oppose. And oppose loudly and often. They need to point out the failure of the war in Iraq. They need to distinguish between the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan.
