was Olbermann on Today show this morning?
On the re-run of his show Thursday night, I thought I heard him say that he was to be on the morning show on NBC. Did it happen? How was it?

2. Yes, he was on
I missed the beginning of his appearance, as in the Detroit area The Today Show was pre-empted by the Ford story by the local news team. I did catch it when they went back and he was great, as usual. I'm just sorry he started while they were still covering the Ford story.

3. Lauer interviewed him but he minded his manners
Visually, even though they were both sitting, Mr. Olbermann towered over Lauer.

4. yeah, those chairs really aren't scaled for someone as tall as KO.
It made me think of the parents on Open House night, trying to fit in their kindergartner's chairs. :7

6. He was laughing about that today on Dan Patrick's radio show.
Said emailers to Dan (who now call him "KO the Conqueror" and "the man who is singlehandedly trying to save our democracy") were joking about him looking like the statue of Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial next to Matt. Keith said it was the fault of the new chairs on the new set--Matt isn't that much shorter than Keith. Also, he was placed so close to Matt that he couldn't cross his legs without sticking his foot into Matt, so he just kept them on the floor.

5. He was very good, and plugged the speech, his book, etc.
Matt Lauer got rapped hard for hitting Carville with a low pitch this morning about the Democrats, but he seemed to make it up with Keith--letting him talk about his feelings, pitcing his book, mentioning replays of the speech, etc.

Keith's most interesting comments were that he knew he'd get hate mail and negative responses, but he said he was unprepared for the outpouring of support and goodwill generated by his taking the gloves off against Bush--he said he'd received thousands of letters, phone calls and e-mails supporting him and saying "thank you."

And of the negative responses, interestingly, he said the majority only criticized him for making the speech at the World Trade Center site ON September 11th--they didn't actually disagree with the speech's content, they just thought September 11th should've been kept free of bile and politics. (See: Bush's speech on terror, Iraq, etc.) But they supported the points and the argument he made.

Bush may have only the 15% of Freeperville behind him before long.
