His Petulance just revealed he'll skip Ann Richards' funeral
He said he'll have 'representative' go.

He was also struggling to say *anything* kind about her.

What a small, small man.

(in his presser on teevee right now)

1. I love my Phillips tv. I can mute and read the words.
Way less painful.

2. One of the finest things about living on the West Coast...
is that by the time I awake, these things are usually finished.

7. I will be there in spirit also. I lived in Texas from 1981 to 1996. Ann
WAS MY GOVERNOR. Even today, the thought of her passing still makes my eyes mist a tad. What a wonderful, wonderful human being. She was the first publicly elected official to be denied office because of kkkarl rove and bushco* election hijinks.

15. I think you're right
He doesn't have the nerve to go anywhere he might meet resistance. And I think most friends of Governor Richards would not be too friendly to Georgie.

19. I wonder if they told him not to come?
Supposedly, Cheney had planned to attend the Wellstone memorial, but, as the official story went, decided not to because the security members of the public who were attending would have to go through would be so inconvenient and delay things (yeah, like when did Cheney ever worry about the us common folk being inconvenienced?). Rumor had it that the Wellstone family had made it clear he wasn't welcome.

9. No surprise there.
Not only would he not be welcome, he wouldn't be the center of attention, & we all know how much he hates that.

10. In honor of Ann Richards, I will henceforth refer to Bush as Some Jerk.
Read yesterday in her NYT obituary that she referred to him that way early in her campaign against him for TX governor and received quite a bit of criticism for it. Seems to me Ann had him figured out before the rest of us did.

So that's what I'm calling him from now on.

12. Any chance the funeral might be carried on CSPAN?
I'd love to be able to see it. The greats should be there...Willie Nelson, Mollie Ivans, Jim Hightower...the list goes on.

17. I'm sure he hates her for the "silver foot in his mouth"
comment she made about his father in 1988.

Bush has a long memory and he's vindictive as hell.
