State by State Analysis of Bush's Social Security privatization

Today the Ways and Means Committee Democrats released a new state by state analysis of the benfits cuts that are part of the Bush privatization plan. The analysis shows the effect of the President's plan for beneficiaries in each state if it had been in place during their working years. A copy of that analysis is here

1. The big issue is the annuity...

Just like the majority of soldiers in Iraq think that Saddam had something to do with 9/11, the VAST majority of people who would otherwise support Republican changes in social security believe that they are building up some kind of "savings" which they can "pass on" to their children...

But Bush's plan (not that he has a plan - no one has a plan, because ANY "official" plan would expose these crooks for who they are) involves taking whatever your account is and putting into an ANNUITY.

What the hell is wrong with the fix they've used many times in the past, and just increase the damn cap on the wages people have to pay SS on?
