I couldn't understand why Daschle felt "muzzled" after Selection 2000 and

particularly after Jim Jeffords switched from Repug to Dem giving Daschle the opportunity to "Deep Six" many of Bush's early appointment and yet Daschle couldn't hold the Dems together to block Bush even before "9/11's Fateful Crackdown."

I could, at one time, understand Reid and Pelosi's reluctance to "Call Out Bush Lies" because of the "Bush War" and the Media's squelching of any dissent.

What I cannot understand NOW...is why Harry Reid seems to read from "note cards" speeches that he seems to have not read until his aides pass him the cards (he forgets a word and seems to have a lapse that shows a speaker who has not prepared himself for the speech.)

Nancy Pelosi has shown up with a Liddy Dole type "baby doll" Re-Do Haircut, Color and Styling making her look as "odd" as Liddy Dole who has remodled herself after "Barbi." Her statements, also, seem to be read from "prepared note cards" by aides that she didn't have time to practice before she speaks.

Yet, I see Repugs and "other" DEMS out there on the Senate and House floor giving RESOUNDING Speeches whether it's from Note Cards or from their Own Memories. Even the Dems and Repugs who use "notecards" seem to be able to switch from looking at the audience and only giving a glance to the notecards as they speak...and the others seem to be able to know their subject without any cards at all.

Why would our Dems have put into the TOP Positions two people (Pelosi and Reid) who seem to not be familiar with their subject matter? And, why would Females still seem to need to do "eye lifts, hairstyling and cosmetic make overs to make themselves seem relevant?

Does anyone really remember the last time the Senate or House rose up and applauded a speech by either one of them?

Are my Dem expectations too high to think that I remember years ago when there were Democratic Leaders who could give thundering speeches filled with incredible rhetoric and historical talking points that would just totally "GRAB" an audience?

What happened? Anyone know?

1. Assassination attempt by the GOP? He was almost anthraxed.
He's pretty meek by nature though.

3. Just their style?
I think Reid is very meticulous and may use the cards to stay on topic.
A lot of public speakers use 'props' when speaking in public.
Pelosi just wants to look good. What's wrong with that?

I think we have bigger things to worry about right now. Just sayin'! ;)

Tell President Bush to do the Right Thing

Last week, a Federal District Court judge in Detroit ruled that President Bush's policy
of wiretapping without judicial review was unconstitutional and illegal.

The ruling came as no surprise to most attorneys and Constitutional scholars.

It has been obvious since this program was revealed that it stood in stark violation of the law.

That is why I am asking you to forward an email to President Bush,

asking him to abide by the court's decision.

It's time to send this President a clear message that we will not give into fear,
and we will not sacrifice our fundamental freedoms.

4. I don't know the why
but I noticed the reading from notes too. It makes it all seem like it's just words, like they don't mean it at all. Like it isn't from the heart.

5. pre-approved talking points?..
it seems like it. Either that or the enormous amount of money required to win a senate seat, ensures that no one there has seen my kind of reality.
