Let's Get the VoteVets Body Armor Ad run against Santorum
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 07:05 PM by RamboLiberal
or any other Repuke that voted against the body armor who is up for election.

If you donate to VoteVets.org you can vote on state where you want the ad to run.

I challenge all PA DU'ers. I donated and voted for Pennsylvania. I'd love to see Ricky Santorum mentioned at the end of this fantastic ad! And any DU'ers not from PA - if you have a few $$ and would like to vote for PA you have my thanks.

PA has lost a 126 soldiers and Marines according to Iraq Coalition Casualties. PA has a tradition of military service. Let's alert these folks that Ricky doesn't support the troops.

VoteVets.org Slams Santorum on Vet Votes
NEW YORK – As Senator Rick Santorum prepares to address the American Legion on Friday, the head of VoteVets.org (formerly IAVA PAC) reminded Pennsylvanians to remember the Senator’s real record.
“Senator Santorum will highlight his superficial role in appropriating emergency funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs, in his speech, but his record shows he has been one of the Senate’s most hostile members to the troops and veterans,” said Pittsburgh native, Iraq War Veteran and Chairman of VoteVets.org, Jon Soltz. “Rick Santorum voted against veterans before he voted for them.”

In just the last few years, Senator Santorum turned his back on troops and veterans multiple times. Senator Santorum:

· Had the audacity to vote against appropriating a billion more dollars for procurement of proper body armor and other equipment for Guardsmen and Reservists risking their lives in Iraq, just when body armor issues were coming to the forefront. (Motion to table Landrieu Amendment No. 452, 4/2/2003)

· Voted to deny the Veterans Health Administration millions of additional dollars by restoring pre-2001 taxes on those making more than $1m and closing tax loopholes corporations exploit. (Stabenow Amendment No. 3141, 3/16/2006)

This DU thread - #21 has list of Senators who voted to table the amendment.

2. I hope they will run this ad against candidates

even where a Dem running against is not a vet if they get the donations. I might have gotten a bit excited there, but heck it's still a good cause and if it takes down a Repuke in any state it's worth it. I've been donating to many of the vet Dems anyway as well as Bob Casey to take down Man on Dog Santorum.

On edit VoteVets website does say - But Senator Allen isn't the only one that veterans are holding accountable with this ad, just the first. Help us continue to run this ad by donating now. Those who donate will get a say in where this TV ad runs next and who is held accountable.

Thank Keith too! KOlbermann@msnbc.com

4. This is the BEST ad I've seen in so many years.
I don't even have much to put towards donations this year but I gladly gave them some $$. My only regret is that it can't be more....
