Ford (Dem) leads in new independent poll....
A bit of good news from Tennessee....Maybe there is some hope!

New Poll Shows Ford With Slight Lead Over Corker, Bredesen Way Ahead
posted September 12, 2006

A new SurveyUSA poll commissioned by WBIR-TV Knoxville is the first independent poll to show U.S. Senate nominee Harold Ford Jr. in the lead over opponent Bob Corker, the Ford campaign said Tuesday.

Conducted Sept. 9-11 in a survey of 1,200 Tennessee adults, including 638 likely voters, the poll places Ford at 48% and Corker at 45% with a 4% margin of error.

The same poll had Gov. Phil Bredesen with 63 percent to 30 percent for Republican Jim Bryson.

2. Watch out now! Corker didn't hire those Swift Boat freaks for nothing!
I guess I'm gonna force myself to watch the local channels in the morning to see what types of ads they produce. I have a feeling things are fixin' to get ugly.

3. ...and the poll is out of Knoxville
...which is, to put it mildly, not Ford's home base -- so this is even better news than it appears at first !!
