Cartoonist Mike Lester joins the list of villiage idiots

Well done, Mike. Being a cartoonist doesn't necessarily require a working knowledge of people, facts, or current events. But it helps.

2. If Mikes intention was to slam 'libs' I see instead his cartoon
pointing out the hysteria of the fear peddlers.

4. He stole this almost word for word
from the last, and I really mean last ever, Dennis Miller show I saw at some point in 2002. What is it with these "conservative" comics and cartoonists? They have no sense of how to make something funny, poignent or smart.

5. I agree - they also tend to lack any creativity or originality
c'mon. Ted Nugent? Zappa was more in the middle politically, so I don't think he counts as a Rightie, but for the most part Wingers tend to be uninspired and unfunny - even more so when they use "I WAS JOKING!!" as an excuse to be a bigot.

6. When Miller made the decision the ram his nose up Bush's ass...
he lost it all. It was pretty sad because Miller can be smart and insightful. Unfortunately, the general conservative audience has little appreciation for such things.

8. It's tempting to overanalyze political cartoons, but in this case...
Mike Lester has perfectly captured the rhetoric passed off as policy for this issue. The flaws are endless.

1. Terrorists don't go door-to-door. They don't have to. They strike frequently enough only to cause discomfort, uncertainty, and fear. 9/11 has been good enough to last for 5 years with no end in sight to the panic.

2. No one -- absolutely no one -- would willingly sacrifice their family for something as trivial as the family dog. To insinuate as much shows how willing the cartoonist is to swallow the administration's bullshit.

3. As stated by ulysses so clearly, our rights and civil liberties aren't the family pet. We don't keep them around because they are cute, and they do not have lives shorter than ours. They are the foundation of our country, they are the essence of what we believe. And, yes, they are worth dying for.

Wake up, Lester, and think for yourself.
