ABC Disney Apple
From Apples live event held today:

Jobs then introduced Disney President and CEO Bob Iger. He called Disney and Apple's first partnership to bring TV shows to the iTunes Store last year "a breakthrough," and added that "the marriage of great content and great technology -- and of great user interface -- is truly a killer application."

"We knew we were in business with a great partner, and we know the consumer has spoken because the success of TV shows has been enormous on this platform," Iger continued. "We're confident that movies are going to work as well. We're very thankful to work with Apple and Steve, and we congratulate you on this next step."

1. Damn it, I almost can't win.
Too many things are owned by too many monolith companies! I guess i won't be getting a Mac or using iTunes. Good thing I hadn't bought an mp3 player yet.

5. That's really ridiculous. Not getting an Apple product because
iTunes will be carrying Disney movies. Have you considered not buying any Disney movies instead? I hope you don't stop breathing because Disney breathes in the same air as you.

14. I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way.
I hope you have time to flame everyone else while you're at it.

2. Apple is Dead to Me!
I always liked the PC Guy (who's also an actor on The Daily Show) better than that snooty, "my sh*t doesn't stink" MAC Guy anyway. ;)

It's no great loss for me as I didn't fall for the Ipod craze. :hi:

3. Ever think Apple might eventually take over Disney if we got behind them?
No wonder liberals have virtually no power in mass media. Endlessly making the good the enemy of the perfect. RepuKKKes certainly don't make that mistake.

7. Well I'm proud to be a LIBERAL and KNOW that absolute power
corrupts absolutely. We don't need an increased number of Corporate MERGERS. Hell no!

We need to break up the Monopolies and "Family Fortunes" passed down from a wannabe Ruling Class. We especially need to break up the whorish Corporate M$M, if not for anything else, for the sake of DIVERSITY and increased honesty in Journalism.

Competition (not Consolidation) is best for US "little people" non-investor class CONSUMERS.

big of a sacrifice.

I was seriously thinking about getting a Mac Desktop. Willing to drop about $3000 on the entire set up. Yeah, Mac loses big time from people like me (when taken as a whole segment of society), but I'd rather deal with the viruses that give support to wannabe Corporate Masters of The Universe. :hi:

9. I'm still getting my Mac Pro.
Disney will change if they want to survive. Jobs will have a greater influence over them, that's a fact.

Apple makes a great product and treats their employees well. Also, the stand by their work practices aka investigation into the sweat shop allegations.

Jobs is a Democrat. Disney is not. ABC is especially not. I will stick with jobs. He has changed Apple, I believe he will do the same with Disney. ABC is dead to me. But then again, I don't have a TV, so all networks are dead to me.:)

iTunes radio carries Air America and not Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Lielly, etc.?

20. Not LARGE Corporations ... and there's competition, plenty of it
for individual hardware that goes into building a PC.

I'll rephrase, SCREW Mega-Corporations and Monopolies! :P There, hope that settles well with ya. :hi:

12. That's ANY company OR person who is taken over by greed
and callous disregard of the welfare of their individual worker (non-managment) wage slave.

ALL large Corporations should be broken-up into smaller independent entities to promote competition.

Apple is included in the Greedy category. No doubt. ;)

18. No need to deal with viruses.
Get a Linux PC. Preinstalled, or an OS-less system with Linux installed by a friend. Or by yourself, if you feel like it.

Fedora is particularly straightforward to install on a PC.

16. Jobs has no control over ABC's content. His influence is just
one vote on the board of directors. We don't know what he did or said behind closed doors to Iger or anyone else.

If you look at the talk radio stations in iTunes they are decidedly progressive. Apple is where he has his influence and they are a very blue company. Dell didn't hire Gore, Apple did.

AAR is there, not EIB or Sinclair.

21. I know, I just want to give them a bit to think about.
Remember SNL did a skit where they parodied Jobs introducing smaller and smaller iPods to the point they were invisible?

It's coming true.
