The conspiracy theory that the gop was involved in the 9--11 attack
is vehemently opposed by those who know beyond any doubt that Iraq had WMD and Hussein and Al-Quaeda were attached at the hip. These items are believed without a doubt by those who know, without a doubt, that the gop had nothing to do with 9-11.

I have no opinion on the conspiracy theory but it often is a chuckle to watch "conservative" logic at work. Oh, and don't forget, Valerie Plame was just an insignificant, unimportant desk jockey. In fact, she was so insignificant that the white house just had to expose her identity. Expose the identity of an unimporant desk jockey?? It doesn't take much to feed the lemmings.

2. most questioning the "official" story are not "conspiracy theorists" . . .
we are simply truth seekers . . . we see the gaps and the contradictions in the official story, know it's not true, and simply want the truth to be found . . .

the conspiracy theorists are those who accept the official story as fact . . . that story is the most outrageous conspiracy theory of all . . .

4. If you are seeking the truth
then you will be opposed vehemently by bush supporters. I think the argument has a great deal of merit. The motive of bush and pnac is lock solid. They want never ending war and what better way to stimulate the senses of the unwashed then to have a spectacular attack in this country.

3. And why is their zero news coverage of the "theory"?
I mean, there would seem to be reason to cover such a widly held questioning of the general public. But, no! No mention of it..ever. Even as a curiosity that should be reported as just something that is occuring in our country. But, nope! Nothing.

5. The artificial dichotomy and the real ChimpCo.
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 10:59 AM by longship
Ideologues use the artificial dichotomy when opposition points out problems with their claims. It's just like Chimp's "If you disagree with us; you're supporting the terrorists." To the MIHOP crowd, it's "You either support our paranoid delusions, or you must be accepting the official government report."

Well, I utterly reject the wacky fringe madness that has seeped into the 9/11 truth movement and I also reject the official government report. Like many liberals on this issue, I see both as delusional. E.G., there's no way that anything but the documented airliners flown by Islamic terrorists hit those buildings. There's no way that ChimpCo wasn't asleep at the switch on 9/11.

What happened on 9/11 was horrible and ChimpCo's complicity in it is thick. However, like every other debacle on their watch, the fault lies in their total incompetence in governing, not in some contrived grand plan.

The sole thing that the Repugs do well is politics. The reason they achieve success in that venue is simply because that's their sole concern. Terror, war, disaster relief, and everything else is secondary. So, as ChimpCo goes from one debacle to another, they are working very hard to keep in power by using the only tools they know how to use, politics. They see nothing but the events in the political sphere. They know of no responses except political responses to political events. They are totally incapable of any kind of action except political action. It's what they do.

The sooner people open their eyes to these facts, the sooner we will succeed in defeating this abomination of an administration and the sooner we will start winning elections again. Allowing fringe ideas from fringe groups to get a strong foothold won't help our cause. The 9/11 truth movement is nearly powerless because of the ease that the opposition can credibly say that "they're all a bunch of conspiracy kooks". I find my sentiments bordering on that opinion as well. They aren't *all* kooky, but a very vocal fringe is really sucking the air out of the dialog. This adds fuel directly into ChimpCo's political machine.

Speak truth to power. Speak truth to everybody, and especially those who want to preempt the dialog to promote a fringe belief.

6. Dan Rather was set up by the "right" to look like a tin-foiler
in order to keep the press from following in his footsteps by asking hard questions. I have no doubt that some bogus stories are planted by repukes to try to get some journalist on the left to bite and make us all look bad. If the "truth" comes out, it has to be absolutely irrefutable.

7. They do protest too much!
If I had faith in the Democrats or any Independent out there, I would venture to hope that this is a matter of something big is about to break against 'them'. You know, one of those 'me thinks thou doth protest too much' moments is at hand? But, I doubt it.
