PT9-11 Who is this Moussaud character?
The one from Afghanistan that was warning US about the attack that was killed by the 'news interviewer'? Did he really exist?

5. Ahmad Shah Massoud, aka, the "Lion of Panjir", was probably...
...the last best hope that Afghanistan ever, ever had.

6. And the one thing ABC got right was when "Kirk" said:
"we let him down"

11. From what I've read, he wasn't particularly fond of the US

Apparently, he was very cynical about our 'aid' during the Russo-Afghan war, and I've never read anything about him warning us of anything.

12. Absolutely...
I remember watching a documentary about him shortly after 9/11. I hadn't been aware of him or his assassination up to that point, and I was really liking what I was seeing. I was crushed when they came to the end of the piece and I learned that he had been murdered. It was just the preamble to 9/11, I guess. Too bad we weren't paying attention.

From the BBC Online
Dated September 11, 2001

Masood attack: Reports differ wildly

Afghan opposition leader Ahmed Shah Masood was killed or seriously injured in an attack by suicide bombers in his headquarters in the garrison town of Khwaja Baha-Uddin on Sunday. Here is what reports around the world are saying.

The BBC's Afghan analyst, Baqer Moin, quoting "reliable sources" says Mr Masood is dead.

He said two reporters - allegedly Arab - were interviewing Mr Masood when one of them asked if he could take pictures with his video camera.

He picked the camera up and it exploded, killing the reporter along with Mr Masood and the Afghan opposition's ambassador to India.
