Cheney slips and calls himself President!
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 02:41 PM by Felinity
Has anyone else noticed this one?

My boyfriend couldn't wait for me to get home yesterday to tell me that Cheney had had a little Freudian slip in his conversation with Tim Russert on Meet the Press yesterday. I just checked the transcript and there it is--Cheney refers to his visits to our wounded soldiers as "the toughest thing the president has to do." Now we know Bush is not frequenting the wards of the wounded, right?

Here's the whole paragraph:

"Now, is it tough and difficult? Absolutely. No doubt about it. You know, you regret every single casualty. I visit with the families. We spend time with the wounded when they come back. I visit with the troops every chance I get. It’s the toughest thing the president has to do, but it is absolutely the right thing to do, Tim, because if we weren’t there, if Saddam Hussein were still in power, the situation would be far worse than it is today."

And the link to the page of the transcript:

Shouldn't the citizens of a Democracy know who's running our Government? And by the way, why would the Repugs trot out 18% approval Cheney to help them get elected? Maybe because he's the one calling the shots and is the most evil and arrogant asshole in the world?

Edit to correct to Tim Russert. Thanks for correction.

1. On the bright side...
...he didn't say 'it's the toughest thing the Emperor has to do.' Only a matter of time, though.

2. No he didn't
I'm sure Cheney thinks he's the president. However if you watch the interview he's clearly referring to Bush when he says the President. Also Tim Russert is the host not Matthews.

4. Thanks, corrected.
How can he be talking about Bush when he does not visit troups. If he did, there would be lots of photo-opping.
