1. It'll be a long time for us
I feel like calling, making a reservation and then calling back and cancelling and explaining it's because of the path to 9/11 farce

3. Yep...dead and buried
Not watching much tv, turning off ABC will be difficult for someone who doesn't turn them on. And yet, I have a feeling that if I pay close attention, there will be ways to pay them back for their tryst with the devil. It is up to each of us to never, never ever forget.

6. It's not a tryst with the devil
Disney OWNS ABC. Please repeat that. Disney OWNS ABC.

So it doesn't matter what the honchos at ABC want. Even if they didn't want to show this abomination, it doesn't matter. Because Disney OWNS ABC.

9. Agreeing with OP
one would assume I know perfectly well who owns Disney. Or did you just need a good yell at someone? Nevertheless, as a Mainer and an active Democrat who has attended past Mitchell fundraisers, I did write to him as well as everyother crack-head at ABC. Mitchell of course will never remember me, but I yanked that chain anyway. Then there is this excellent diary from Kos:

Crusty Bunker speaks

Meanwhile, Disney, which is shielded from direct liability for ABC's actions by virtue of stock ownership rather than direct control, might want to be checking on whether allowing, after ample warning, a Disney subsidiary to expose the corporation that has the most to lose from a tarnished image, i.e., Disney, could be grounds for a shareholder derivative suit against the board for mismanagement and a resulting loss of value to its trademarks and image, resulting in likely diminished stock value. This is why I think Disney is the Achilles heel in all this.

I would also guess that this weekend, flies on multiple walls will see a lot of behind-the-scenes negotiating, or at least attempts to negotiate. Bill Clinton has been or will no doubt be on the phone personally with Disney Chairman, George Mitchell. ABC attorneys are burning up the lines with YWAM's mouthpieces. Independent affiliates are probably on the phone with ABC's attorneys seeking promises of indemnification if they air the show. It's a bloody mess--trust me, I've been in the middle of bloody messes before though no one has seen something this big in tort law outside of Ford, Abbot Labs (i.e., Tylenol) or Erin Brockovich.

I hope this costs those bastards, including Disney, billions. However, it doesn't change anything for me: they're now dead.

12. I did it because there are still people who,
even though they 'know' that Disney owns ABC don't really KNOW it...if you know what I mean. They still try to separate them as entities and you can't do it if you're going to make a real impact. You have to hit at the source; the owners; Disney.

7. Ditto, and I e-mailed them yesterday to let them know just that!
There is no reason that we have to take this right wing baloney and I told them so. My grand
children will not get disney "anything as gifts, I will not watch ABC for the rest of my life. It is too late. They think so little of the American people to try this baloney, even canceling the production will alter my opinion of all of them. Disney and ABC obviously think we are idiots. That will not change, whether they give in or not. Thats how it is, I've had it.
