'Path to 9/11' director answers critics

By Phil Owen
Assistant Entertainment Editor
September 08, 2006

On Friday, David Cunningham, director of the controversial new ABC miniseries, "The Path the 9/11," gave a statement to The Crimson White, answering many critics of the show.

One of the major points Cunningham makes is that these outspoken critics, which include former National Security Adviser Samuel Burger and aide to former President Bill Clinton, Bruce Lindsey, attended a screening two weeks ago that featured only the first half of the film, which focuses on the years in which Clinton was president.

Another outspoken critic of the film is former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who has not even seen the film.

"A lot of these critics havent seen the whole thing or, in some cases, any of it," Cunningham said.

"We have these CNN pundits who haven't seen it who are taking scenes out of context as examples ."

Cunningham also pointed out that the critics, many of whom are Democrats, are just telling their side of the story.

"We have out CIA consultants and Clinton has his. It's kind of a 'he said, she said' situation right now," Cunningham said.

In the case of people like Albright who haven't seen the film, Cunningham said that "they are hearing things that people say about it, and then using that to come up with their own conclusions about the show."

Cunningham also said that the talk of ABC possibly pulling the show "is just a rumor right now."

7. It's a different one
A french filmcrew was doing a documentary on the NYC Fire Dept on 9/11. The crew made it into a documentary of what happened on that day. The affiliates that aren't showing it are refusing due to the language (swear words) that people utter.

11. is the guy this dense?
In the beginning of part 2, does Rush Limbaugh wake up and all of part 1 was his right wing fantasies?

Doesn't this dink realize what the controversy is?

Does he think that because part 2 might say something bad about Bush, it excuses out and out fabricated
conversations in part 1?

Tell me he's not serious?

12. Oh what bullshit
Does it make any difference whatsoever that they only saw half the film? Does this moron imagine that those who object currently will be mollified if there are just as many lies told about the Bush admin in part 2?

A lie is a lie is a lie. When you portray real people doing craven things in a movie, that never occured in real life, well, they tend to get a tad pissed. He ought to take his "docudrama" and fold it so the edges are good and sharp and then........... well. You know.
