ATTENTION DISNEY SHAREHOLDERS: DUMP YOUR STOCK on
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 07:25 PM by Seabiscuit
Monday morning if ABC airs its 9/11 fabrications on Sunday.

That's what I'm going to do. Dump it now before taking a huge loss on it down the road. Disney/ABC needs to pay the consequences of its reprehensible actions in creating and threatening to air this libelous and Stalinistic rewrite of a critical time in American history on the eve of one of the most important elections in American history.

2. Donate it
To a charity and take the deduction. If everyone gave to the same charity they could have some real sway.

12. Not a bad idea.
But it wouldn't have the same effect as having tons of people selling, selling and selling their Disney stock on the market this week, driving the price down.

3. The price of Disney shares has been pretty much following the

fluctuations of the DOW this summer. Even its recent downturn since Sept. 1 followed the market. Today the market was up and so was Disney.

I'd like to change all that. I want to see a large fluctuation in price on Monday followed by a gradual but steady drop for weeks, then months, then ? regardless of what's happening in other markets.

I was holding onto Disney stock to give to my son. But I bought it when I believed in Walt's vision, and Roy's determination to preserve the integrity of the company.

By now it's in the hands of some nefarious S.O.B.'s without a social conscience and without much business sense, who will sell out to the neocons for short term business and tax preferential treatment in exchange for helping the neocons rig yet another election by rigging voters' minds for 5 hours with lies about Democratic leaders.

So I say screw them. Maybe the stockholders that are left will go after that unconscionable bunch and kick them all out for bringing the company to its financial knees.

4. is the current market price higher than your purchase price
Easy to say "dump your stock" if you're going to make a profit. Not necessarily so easy if its a loss.

5. Yes, and that's a valid point.
But I'd personally dump it even if I took a loss because all indications are that Disney stock is going to go down, down, down over the next year and possibly a lot longer as a result of the fallout from ABC's "docudrama" on 9-11. It's called "cutting your losses".

11. You have more guts than I...
I will definitely be selling my Disney stock as soon as the market opens Monday morning.

But, alas, two weeks ago I booked a four-night stay at Disneyland for myself, my wife, my 2 year old son, and my parents-in-law in late November. It's actually a 3 night stay with the fourth night free. And the first time we'll be staying at the Grand Californian, which has some great programs for little kids.

We've taken our son to Disneyland 3 times already and he loves the place. And my wife's parents haven't been able to make it with us with our son until now, and my wife and I just don't quite have it in us to cancel out all their fun.

See, my wife and I have always loved and revered Walt Disney and all he stood for and created. He was our kind of genius. The poor guy must be rolling over in his grave seeing what the company he left behind has turned into.

14. If it were just me I'd cancel. I don't go there any more to see
Disneyland; I go there to see the wonder on my son's face and hear the squeals of delight in his laughter. And this time I'll also get to see the same reactions in my wife's aging parents.

7. We're on it!
My husband just informed me during one of my Disney rants that we still own their stock. We're putting in a sell order the moment their crockumentary hits the airwaves.

9. Only if it's for purposes of future investing.
If someone puts out false news about a company to drive its stock down so they can purchase it low, before the falsity is revealed, driving the stock price back up, yeah, you can get in trouble for that. That's called "manipulating".

But there's nothing wrong with advocating that people dump a company's stock for political reasons when that company breaches its fiduciary duty to its stockholder as Disney has with this phony ABC "docudrama" about 9-11. I am certainly not advocating that anyone repurchase Disney stock at any time in the future, and I certainly won't. No "manipulating" here at all.
