Governor Richard (D) NM negotiates release of jailed journalist!
Governor Richardson was just on the phone with CNN .. He was able to successfully negotiate the release of two time Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist Paul Salopek.

The story is just starting to roll across the AP: http://www.sanluisobispo.com/mld/sanluisobispo/15472949.htm

(Richardson is over in Sudan at the request of Salopek's wife) .. According to CNN, Salopek is from New Mexico.

WTG Governor Richardson.. Wow is he good at negotiations!

On their site - "Why you should care about Paul Salopek"

6. Don't forget the * cabal will say he is aiding and abetting
the terrorist......:sarcasm:

This is the kind of man we need in WA...it seems more and more that if anything is accomplished it's by men like this, Jessee Jackson etc...because the people they are negotiating with do not want to deal with the liars in the WH....they should be removed because they are putting the country in more danger....

7. Negotiating...who would have thought that would ever work.

Certainly not George, Rummy and Condy, all they can do is threaten, bully, and strut around like martinets. And, oh yes, they tend to pontificate in the most pompous ways.

:applause: Thank you Governor Richards!

11. Well, to be fair
I don't think anyone could foresee that negotiating would work. How in the world are you going to get people to do what you want if you're not willing to drop a bunker buster or fifty?

Seriously, this is what diplomacy, statesmanship, and leadership looks like. Which is why it's so startling to see in this feckless Age of Bush.
