Osama Bin Laden and Abortion
Bush relies on fear to govern this country. Osama Bin Laden is the personification and embodiment of that fear. I do not believe Bush ever wishes to capture the man. Without OBL to focus Americans fear on Bush would lose his lever.

For the same reason I do not think the Republicans will ever do anything about Abortion. In six years nothing has been done. Oh yes! Roberts was put on the Supreme Court but even said he would not disturb "settled law." Alito was appointed by Bush only under duress after the Conservatives raised hell about Harriet Myers.

4. I am saying
that Republicans get a lot of mileage out of being against abortion and that if it was ended they would lose a big issue that their base rallys around. At the federal level I do not think any hindrances to abortion have been enacted. Correct me if I am wrong.

5. Yes, here are 2 that I know of. There have in other countries
where the US supports medical aid to the poor. I believe all abortion in those instances where the federal govt is funding it overseas was halted the day after bush took office by executive order.

Also, military women cannot get an abortion very easily now, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think the DoD pays for them in miliatry hospitals unless the woman's life is in danger.

I think abortion became very expensive for alot of women with requirements for waiting periods, and stuff like that, especially in a state like Mississippi where they no longer have a public abortion clinic.

The GOP has chipped away at abortion rights to make it very inconvenient and in somecases, almost impossible.

6. South Dakota. Where do you go for an abortion there.
Perhaps the federal judicial court has not ruled against abortion, but there have been hinderances on state and local levels, not to mention stopping funding contraceptives in poor countries around the world because the group may also, somewhere, sometime, have helped women get safe legal abortions.

2. Well abortion should be legal
Well abortion should be legal. Think of all the money it will cost for the state to take care of unwanted children. Or how many children suffer from having horrible abusive parents.

Unless the people against abortion are going to take in each and everyone of these unwanted babies,
then abortion should be kept the way it is.
